ahh this quite possibly could be one of the greatest days of my life wow. cant wait to see all you guys up there. thanks bob
I'm driving up from FL to attend. Purchased my VIP Pass. See you guys there. I won't have my Ferrari...could I get a ride in with anyone?? I'll be driving through South Boston...
I am most definitely coming down, its only 2 hours away. I've never been to a challenge or historic race event, so this is gonna be something new for me. Ticket prices seem very reasonable as well. Unfortunately I don't have an F-Car (give me a few years, I'm only 20), but just watching the action should be enough for me. Hoping to see plenty of roadgoing F-Cars there, I'll be sure to bring the camera.
Look for a pop-up tent across from the VIR lodge. I'll be there with my little boy, Luca. I thought there was Ferrari parking as part of our Hospitality Package, but honestly, I have no idea. If you see a black 348 with black Challenge wheels (and a baby seat), it's mine.
I spoke with one of the salesmen at Foreign Cars Italia a few days ago and he said they're going to have a hospitality tent setup out there. Apparently only three people manning it on Friday with a larger crew out there for Saturday and Sunday. Look for me hanging out there on and off throughout all three days! Gary
The weather saturday looks to be PERFECT! Lots of pictures and hopefully some video too! I cannot wait!!
im seriosuly gooing crazy im probably not gooing to be able to sleep tonight see you all bright and early tmorrow Qualifying starts at 9 . see you all there ps ill try to get some pictures of the above mentioned cars
Good! I may need some help with the tent (but I'll have it up by 8). Things are looking great here. Arrived about 5:30, checked into the Lodge then toured the paddock. What a trip with some serious Historics! Had dinner at the Tavern with the Mid-Atantic director and his wife and a new 599 owner from NC with his girlfriend.
Had a blast watching the practice sessions all day today. Felt more like early March rather than mid May! The historic cars are so cool!! I'll post a few photos from all three days sometime next week. The 1935 Alpha Romeo and Maserati 250(?) are astounding! Seeing them driven today at VIR has given me a whole new respect for the men who drove these cars back then, as well as those who drive them today. Can't wait for round two tomorrow! Gary
Whoa. Luca and I are exhausted. Challenge Race #1 looked like a demolition derby. Amazing how many cars got banged up. Lots of fun. See y'all again tomorrow.
