I'm sure this has come up a hundred times before. If anyone can direct me to the info regarding disconnecting both sides of the exhaust to get them open all the time for better sound/performance.
I am looking for the correct terminology for parts needing to be disconnected and some technical advise to do it myself if possible.

    thanks in advance.

Actually two hundred. Try doing a search and I'm confident you'll find the information.

It's as simple as leaning over the rear engine compartment, finding the electrical plugs for the muffler bypass valves, and un-clipping them. Keep the metal clips in a safe place in case you want to quiet the car back down. It takes less than 2 minutes.

You mentioned to disconnect the clips and keep them in a safe place. Wont the clips still be on the wire harness?? I tried to find them today and it is going to take a bit more just to get to them. The pics that were submitted in some of the old threads made it look like it was very open and easily accessible. Didn't appear to be the case when I tried to get to them today.
Car is an 03 360 coupe. Any other advise is certainly appreciated.
    thanks,
    Dominic

Ray, thanks for the links to the threads. they were a great start. there seems to be a few different ways to go about it. I am trying to figure out what I think may be the easiest and that is to disconnect the wire harness. I have done an advanced search and couldn't come up with any very specific way to do it and address clips, etc.
Since I am new with the car, I am a bit gun shy and dont want to screw it up. It seems to be pretty cut and dry simple, just making sure.

from what I've read, you can do the electrical or the vacuum solution. I did the vacuum--(04 360 cpe)can get to the right side easily. For the left side, pull the rear driver side tire, pull I think 4 screws out of the sheet metal panel at the rear of the wheel well with louvers in it, gives easy access to correct area. I put screws in the end of each vacuum hose after removing from valve, then twist tied the tubes to keep them from thrashing around. FOA Mark said to do the vacuum so I did, but I experimented with pulling the electrical conn. and that seemed to work also.
