I am happy to be corrected, but I don't think there are any original Ford GT's left in Australia. The car you saw was a replica, of which there are plenty, mostly nasty space-frame jobs that have nothing in common with the real car apart from the copy panels.

I've posted photos on aussieexotics... I'm no expert so please see for yourself - I'd be interested to know if it is actually real or not.

Again, feel free to correct me :)

The one I saw did have SA plates. It was being serviced at a place on Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn, which seemingly specializes in classic rally cars. I leave it to your collective wisdom to determine it's authenticity :)

i too saw BAR 360, turning from swan st bridge onto city rd this evening in peak hr.

amidst the peak hr grind and plethora of boring audi A4s and BMW X5s....it looked rather awesome as it belted by

Pap, heritage plates can also be issued in non-vitreous format, so they essentially look like normal aluminum plates with VIC on the side (I've even seen a four digit with VIC on the top of the plate... similar to black and white general issue).
