1990 Mercury Sable with a vinyl interior. Hey, it got the job done at the time and was a great car to learn on. I am definitely more appreciative of the better cars that I have currently driven or acquired.

I had to share a 1993 Chevy Suburban with my brother for my first car.

Then I got the Trailblazer that I have now.

Everyone kept telling me that for a first car I should buy a sensible, reliable car, that I could buy a sports car later.
So I ignored them and bought 1953 Austin Healey 100M and year bus pass :)

My first "truck" was given to me by my grandpa in 2005. It was a 1987 dodge ram longbed. When I turned 18 in 2007 I bought a 2006 PT Cruiser. Saving my sports car for my early 20's.

My first car was a 1966 Buick Skylark Gran Sport (GS). The 401 "nailhead" engine with lots of torque, but
sadly coupled to the 2 speed powerglide automatic. 1st gear ran to about 70 and then when you shifted
it fell flat on it's face. Did turn a respectible 14.90 in the 1/4 mile.

1986 Mercury Marquis - step-dad bought it for my sister and I in 1997 with only 25,000 miles on it. It was owned by an old lady (88) in a small town that averaged one 2 mile trip to the store and back. Why did she sell it? Wanted a convertible mustang!!! It was in mint condition, ran amazing, and glided over the road like it was on a cushion of air...very comfortable. By far the most reliable car I ever drove.

Would own one again someday if I could just for nostalgia.

When I was 15, I was lucky to scrape together enough cash to buy a non-working $100 car. I spent the next year rebuilding it, learning all about drivetrains & chassis. When I got my license and drove it for the first time... I was in heaven.

I feel sorry for any kid handed a new car.

1995 Chevy Cavalier. As an earlier poster said, it was a POS, but it was mine. Nothing worked on this thing, even the power steering crapped out. Spent more on repairs than on the actual car.
