Anyone know the story of this "olive drab" 456? Must belong to an Italian general..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thought it was my car for a sec. Only other one I think I have ever seen since I got mine 10 years ago.
Prunga is a very rare factory color AND it just happens that I own a prunga 308 gts. Also there is another 308 prunga located in the San Diego area. The color may mean plum in italian, but it is not purple. The best discription is a metallic burgundy which takes on a metallic brown appearence in the dark. Another rare factory color also for 308's is a very light greenish/grey metallic, I don't know what it's called though.
These two colors were supposedly offered on the 328. I have yet to see any proof the color was ever used. 602/C -- Verde Chiaro 604/C -- Verde Tenue
I think that the 308 series is so pretty that they look good in almost any color. I've seen a "Prugna" 308 in person, and it's gorgeous. Metallic green is better on the 456 and other front-engined cars, though. The only color I can't get my head around for ANY car is lime green. Too bad such a rare car as a dry sump, glass 308 should be that color; it would look better in ANYTHING else.
Photo taken in parking lot at 2006 Ferrari National meet in Washington DC/Chantilly, VA. Don't know if color is original or not. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Rosso Metallic: Paint Code 305/C ......... otherwise known as PINK LOL See post: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=136843979&postcount=18 In thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153994 James in Denver
ZING!! Very nice! You said what we're all tryin to say. I thought I danced around it nicely with my "Metallic Salmon" comment, lol!
The Prugna color seems to be very similar to the Steve McQueen Lusso, but the Lusso has a little more brown in it. Am I correct?
I did not want a Red car -- No way. Wanted something unusual. Took awhile but I finally found one. My 81 308GTSi is Marrone. At first it looks bad to many people but after awhile it REALLY grows on you. Would not trade it for anything. Understated, yes. But it is a Ferrari. It gets a lot of looks actually. I read somewhere, I just do not remember where, that only 14 3x8's ever left the factory in Marrone Metallizato. Do not know if that is true or not but from the way most here seem to dislike the color, it is probably not far off. mwr4440
I know Chiaro personally. In her home she has a Kelly green piano that was once ordered by Ronald Reagan for the White House.
I'd say Blu Abu Dhabi. I haven't seen anyone post pictures of an actual Ferrari in this color, I've only seen it on the configurator. Is this perhaps the smurf blue on the 430?
Okay. No color discussion is complete without a picture of my car. Verde Germoglio (original factory paint). The same color as that 'glass 308 in post #9. Image Unavailable, Please Login
saw a dino in this color at 60y aniversity at Fiorano. Have to check pics but thought it had german plates.
Prugna gets my vote, but the mere fact that I know the color means it isn't that rare. There must be something rarer. (sic)
Must be a German General's from the plates. Would make a nice "staff car"! Image Unavailable, Please Login
