Thanks for posting that Mike - I'd been looking for more info on that house and hadn't found anything.

That seems familiar - was it used in a music video (possibly the Buster Rhymes/Mariah Carey one from 3-4 years back??)?

Given the space and an unlimited budget, I would sure love to see
what I would come up with. The problem is usually with one of the above.

    Still....if only....

One of my favorite hobbies is designing my dream house on an unlimited budget.... when I was a kid I always wanted to be an architect... one of these days I'll build the coolest house to ever touch this earth.

It wouldn't be modern though... more of a tuscan villa with lots of exterior stone. :)

That's my secret project ive been working on for the past years. Secretly designing my house from the top to the bottom.

Ha...Mine would be very modern, I love that ****. :)

Same here, I would go towards modern.

I did in fact build my dream house a few years ago, and it is quite modern, but warmer.
I opted to stay away from the 'glass and steel' look. When you think about it it's very cold
looking. In fact, some of the modern houses on this thread...I'd not want to live in. Too 'hard'.

    Well...if you insist....

Not sure the picture does it justice, but it's all I have on this computer.

The house has no basement, a rarity in Canada. Instead I chose to place
the "basement" on the second floor. Makes for a better view out.

Second picture is of the second floor.

    Enjoy!

Interesting with the 'basement' being on the second floor. Great idea. No doubt those pix don't do you house justice. Thanks for sharing.

Too much design, not enough architecture. Derivative. He turns mid-century modern pieces into cliches.

That's a tough one. I like his work, I remember seeing one of his homes in the hills.

A couple of days ago members of ARUP came to talk to us at USC. Pretty sweet how they came up with some of their designs. I really enjoyed it and their projects like the Beijing National Stadium. Oh, pretty awesome as well got to meet one of the architect's of the China Central Television Centre.
