I can't wait either. It was announced a few weeks ago, at the toy show in Germany. I believe that the body will be plastic, like their 1:12 Enzo, rather than diecast.
Good discussion on it here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185330 http://www.tamiya.ca/23211%20ferrari%20gto%20semi-assembled.htm
Hard to say. I've got two Tamiya 1:12 scale models (F50 & Enzo). 50% are plastic and the other 50% are metal Edit: post number 1,000 (I never thought this day would come)
I forgot about the F50. That wasn't package the same way, and in the same state of semi-assembly, as the Enzo, was it? The 288GTO packaging and assembly of the model in the packaging looks identical to the Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT, another plastic-shell 1:12 from Tamiya. And, congrats on hitting the milestone 1k ! I have just a little ways to go to catch up
Retailers have it listed for $699 USD, with delivery slated for May. If you feel lucky, you could buy it from a Hong Kong ebay seller when it is released. I did that on my 1:12 Enzo a couple years ago. It got here to the US in perfect condition, and I saved about $200.
Congrats as well. Looking forward to that model. Looks really stunning. Got now 2 1:12's. GTO (64) and the Enzo. So I think I'll buy this one as well.
The F50 was packaged differently, but was semi-assembled. That's what I did with my Enzo too... got it for a shade over $400.
I refuse to buy anything from them. I never have, and withh all the cr@p I have heard & read about 'em, I never will.
I know that's right. I bet they're just quoting available info anyway. I'd bet money they don't have one (or any) at all.
I feel exactly the same way. I have bought from them in the past but never online--always in person. Speedgear is my new place. By the way guys--for those of you that live in US-- any other sources for die-cast Ferraris ( other than E-bay)????
YES when you bought it in a shop, but by ebay the price are -40-50%. So someone can tell me when this GTO 1/12 will be available on market?
