Relax......Just for the day. My friend wanted to try my Ferrari for a day as he is thinking of buying one so I got his 997 Turbo. Having owned 3 991 variants I have to say this is the best one yet...but....sooooo boring compared to the F430. It just doesn't have that "feel"..hard to describe really. Engineering is impeccable and the twin turbos are exquisite but its no Ferrari and the M6 sounds better. I like the color combo however....haha. And it was a good excuse to use my fisheye lens...... One major difference between your 430 and the 997TT, judging from the average experience of many owners, is the owner of the 430 will spend a disproportionate amount of his/her time looking at the 430 sitting in the garage (because its such an impractical car) whereas the owner of the 997tt will actually put in a ton of driving days and enjoy the car for what it's supposd to do (rather than just the visuals). This isn't a snippety pro-porsche observation; its my experience too but with slightly different cars. My CS sits in the garage while I find myself driving my 9933TT far more. Time actually driving a high performance car matters because life is too short otherwise.

Wouldn't argue with you there actually. I do drive my M6 Cab more frequently as I can enjoy a smoke and its easier for traffic downtown ( and snow, but with snow tires, right James??.....) I would actually prefer an older Turbo variant, probably setup as a street legal track car, I had one to buy a few years ( full setup, cage, bare interior, fuel cell...the whole nine yards) ago and passed...I regret it...would buy one in a second..the GT500 will scratch that itch i think.. That being said, I frequently take the F430 out to my local cigar store or to office on nice days...I love them all!
As requested: My 993TT has several mods, raising stock 400 HP and 400TQ to about 490 each. In stock form, both Car & Driver and Road & Track tested the 993TT at 3.7secs from 0-60, and about the same to 0-100 as for my CS (between 9.1 to 9.5 secs). The stock 993TT actually pulled away, marginally, from the stock 996TT that followed. With the mods, my 993TT has fierce low end torque, is very quick off the mark, and is definitely quicker than my CS. With all wheel drive, it does very well on the track, especially given the extra power. But my CS is more grounded on the track, more confidence inspiring than the 993TT, and with its ceramic brakes one approach turns much faster. And with the F1 shifters at my finger tips, downshifting into tight turns at hair raising speeds is so seemless whereas in the 993TT I'm inclined (and embarrased) to miss downshifts here and there with truly anxious consequences. I zip about town in the 993TT, lots of fun, few worries, don't even think about maintenance. I roar around on local highways in CS with its famous banshee wail, almost erotic enjoyment, I worry more (where do I park it, for how long?), and do think about maintenance. I'm truly grateful to have such problems. Image Unavailable, Please Login
For a daily driver in Canada, the 911TT is the best car around. However, if its your weekend toy, Fcar wins that one. Having been back to back comparison in a 911TT, 911 GT3 and 430, the Ferrari experience is just on another level!
Amazing House!!!!! Good thing its only a trade for the day...I would not even think about doing that trade forever!
The Porsche 993TTs is quite a machine. Too bad they are so rare! As for the trade, I thought you had actually done a permanent trade-in on your car for the 997 and nearly vomited in my mouth.
Hahaha....not a chance..sorry about that. I took it for a highway drive tonight...its more fun at speed..but again, its no Ferrari........
haha I thought you were serious as well, although it would be hard to see you trading in the 430 after seeing the huge smile on your face that day at mosport! I saw this blue one at a shannonville last week and i must say they do fly around the track. Image Unavailable, Please Login
best car ever....will be buying one for myself if my recent investment pays off, and they're actually rising in value! hard to find a nice one now a day's but theres one i'm working on down south for $65,000 for someone. Let's get you one Scott you WILL NOT regret it!
I would have to agree. The 993 TT is one of the best there is! A friend of mine has a 1000BHP 993TT. His dad however has probably the best example in this country tucked away. Completly stock with 22 KM Image Unavailable, Please Login
his dad and another one i know of are probably the two lowest around...theres a silver/red car here in town with 20 something km's on it as well.
I will have to agree with everyones agreements.....the 993 TT is awesome. I love the style and engine. Its a classic.
