I went last year (from Aurora (north of Toronto)) and I can say it was a great weekend. The F-guys from Ottawa are great and everyone had a good time (even though my fuel pump failed on Cresent Street at 2am after one of the shows). I highly suggest that everyone from Toronto go to this event. The track day is really something as well and Calbogie is an amazing track. Unfortunately, I'm moving a few weekends before and may still be unpacking...so I may miss this year.
I am thinking about that but not sure the track day at Calabogie is a fun-track day with an instructor sitting next or a real track day with experienced track-racer. Can anyone tell ?
Hi F360-1386 Give Michel at Xclusive Auto a call or email. They are running the track day for the Ferrari Festival and there are a few options. I know last year there was an open track time and my friend Lydia took me for 6 of the fastest laps/moments I have ever done in a car!!!! 355GTS! Michel 613-729-8887 [email protected] Hope to see you in Ottawa June 13-15 Cheers! Terry Jones FCA Ottawa
I think i might like to go this year...Tremblant festival ive done last two years...maybe its time to switch it up!!!
Hello Terry Thanks for the information, I will give Michel a call or send him an email to get more information about the track day. I tried only once driving my 360 at Mosport DDC and not sure if I can handle the real open track ...despite I have been driving for more than 30 years LOL. I will feel more comfortable if there is an instructor sitting next. I really look forward to join the fun weekend. Warmest regards Hubert
FCA Ottawa track day will have 2 separate events for people wanting to try track. 1) Open tracking for experienced drivers (instructors available). 2) Taste of the Race event is a more controlled track session; follow a pace car at controlled speeds so you have a chance to drive the track without the pressure of open driving. Here's the link: http://www.xclusiveauto.ca/xatc.html
Thanks Evansp60 for the information: I have one more question here: for the open track event - you mentioned "instructors available"; does that mean every car would have an instructor sitting next or we need to request for one and need to pay for that ? Best regards Hubert
I have registered for the Ferrari Festival including the open track event - look forward to seeing those who would join in Ottawa.
Just a brief note that the Sunday reception will take place at Villa Marconi and NOT the Ambassadors residence. Thanks FCA Ottawa
Hello All! I do not believe the grounds were available for the day. Also there will be a "cheque" presentation ceremony at Villa Marconi as well as the luncheon. Cheers! TCJ1965
So I will have a 348 and a 550 there, but if something mechanically goes wrong, is there any local ottawa area mechanics that are well versed in f cars. Youu never know and youd better be prepared for the worst!!
Look forward to seeing you (Dan) and Bernarddo66 at the Calabogie track and in Ottawa - I am driving a red 360.
I definitely want to check out the Calabogie Motorsports park. I haven't been, yet I live only 40 minutes away! Is it going to cost anything for spectators or am I going to have sneak in an F-car?
