Well, after 32 years, 4 Ferraris and 1 Lamborghini (plus countless other lesser rides)...... Tonight my beautiful wife of those 32 years asked to drive the 355! O.K., it is her birthday. She is the most beautiful and amazing 54 year old in the world. What else could I do? She has never even asked to drive one of the exotics. But, I think I've created a monster. She drove great and couldn't wipe the smile off her face. Her words were, "you just have to smile when you are driving this thing!". I guess that there are worse things. At least I still have the Gallardo which she hasn't driven! But, again, tonight she said, "I think I want to take the Lamborghini out Saturday!" I guess I'm toast. She is just too wonderful of a wife to put up any fight. So, I lost a little of my "man territory" but continue to have a great wife. I think it is worth the trade-off.:)

Sounds to me like you gained some man territory tonight. Sharing something like that with someone as special as you say your wife is, can only lead to great times. Few couples can form new bonds like that after three decades. Congratulations, and happy birthday to your wife.

    Nice story... thanks for sharing...

My wife is convinced she's too short to drive the Ferrari (she's 4'9")...

I always throw my wife the keys when I've had a few too many. She's a better catch than driver which is why I'm going to AA :D

    Happy bday to the missus!

I'm one of the blessed ones. I love my wife and got the biggest kick out of seeing her drive and then say, "this is really fun". So, Saturday, up to the hills with both cars. We can take turns taking turns! God is good.

Wait until she asks "can we get a new car?" You'll have it made in the shade.

Your supposed loss of manhood has to be "tongue in cheek". You are "The Man" if the wife takes an interest in the F car! Hell, for me half the fun is watching my wife drive the 355! Love the look on the guys faces as she drives past! Heck, now you have an excuse to buy her her "very own" exotic toy!

You might have a new problem. When you now think of getting a new toy and expect her to temper your enthusiasm she may be the one egging you on. Great idea, why not!

So have you got her doing proper downshifting technique? Is Bondurant school next?

What a wonderful news Scott, indeed you created a beautiful monster:)

Is this mean she'll be driving one of your baby to the next ********** in Fresno?

Regards to your wife if she remembers me, here's a reminder:)

You must have an agenda and want her to 'find' this thread and read your effusive words about her! :D Kidding of course; that's very cool of you - not that you let her drive but that your perspective is what it is.

    Mike,
That is her on my RIGHT, to my left is Valarie (our neighbor and dear friend, Valarie and Jerry have the yellow F430). We intend to bring both cars to the next **********! Thanks all, BTW, it was her who said, "go ahead and get the Gallardo, you want it and deserve it." What a gal!!!!!!! And, as you can see, she is also quite beautiful.

I would totally look at it like it is a blessing.

The next time that you want to get another one, it is an easy sell. "Honey, WE need this car for US."

It is amazing that it took her so long to try. My wife learned how to drive at the track and 6 months after she got her driver's licence was driving my 599 fast in the rain. Just bought my wife a very cool Harley as she does not like pillion as much anymore. My only non-negotiable man territory is my Formula car (at least until her laptime is down to 1:42 in a school car!)
