The weather turned out to be perfect for our trip and while 58 people had signed up, we had an extra two cars along to be with their Ferrari Friends. Many are coming from Oregon and BC, so not all attendees are in these photos from Day 1; Enumclaw to Walla Walla. We gathered in Enumclaw and had many nice cars; two 575 SuperAmericas, a 330 GTC, F355s, 360s, 430s, Diablo spyder, Gallardo, Porsches, Alfa duetto and the list goes on ...

(PS - I found out the rooms had WiFi and couldn't resist sharing as we're having quite a bit of fun!

As we departed Enumclaw and entered the Snoqualmie National Forest, the alpine scenery was really spectacular. Looming mountains overshadowed us, crisp mountain air filled our cockpits and we broke the silence with the sounds of 6, 8, 10 and 12 cylinder engines.

There was one humorous incident about 15-20 miles into the trip where we passed a State Trooper who had parked on the side of the road for a health break. Over our FRS radios came the broadcast "there is an officer running from the woods back to his car while grabbing his zipper"

Looks like a blast. I bet those cool wine cellars felt good after a long day of driving.

Rick and Darcy Small put on an unbelievable Saturday lunch for us. Rick has an artisan pizza oven which takes two days of fire to come up to the required 600-800 degree temperature. They set tables for us in the shade of the Woodward Canyon tasting room trees so that we could be cool and comfortable while Rick fired pizza's in the ultra hot oven. The high temperature for the day broke 100 degrees and Rick really hustled for our lunch; he has got to be one of the hardest working guys I've ever met.
First photo has Rick on left, Darcy on right.
Second photo has our group with Dino owner Gary Figgins of Leonetti cellars in the second from left.
Third photo shows the fantastic tables and wonderful meal they provided.

Many thanks for the warm Walla Walla hospitality.

For Saturday Dinner, Bob Parrish pulled out all the stops to host us at his "Back Stage Bistro". First he applied for city permits to block off the street so we could have a Ferrari Club car show, then he hired this fantastic jazz band "The Randy Halberstadt Trio" to perform for us and then he permitted three local wineries to host their finest on his premises for our enjoyment. Our own oenophile, Mark, had arranged for the wineries below for us. Many thanks!

It looks like you had a great time. A close to perfect day for a trip over the pass and through the sage brush.

I had to check the map to figure out where you were stopped along the road on 24. That road is nuts at shift change time at Hanford though.

You know why it is so hard to "herd cats" ?

They are so independent they hate being told where to be and when to be there :D

    Scott,

Wonderful thread. Just reading the passages and pictures is so refreshing. It makes me smile. I remember when I was a kid my parent and my aunt and uncle and our families took road trips to the Smokey Mountains and other regional places close to home for a few days, and took pictures. It reminds me of those times but with our toys. Great thread. Thank you.

To everyone who came to Walla Walla last weekend on the Ferrari Trip, it was great to meet all of you. Sorry about the heat. What a great group to make pizza for! I will look forward to joining you on a future trip hopefully. Scott, great job; I enjoyed working with you on this.

    Ciao,
    Rick
