How looks the new 2008 interior badge for the 599599

My best guess is that the badge will be "2007 Formula 1 Driver and Constructors Champion". As soon on some recent new Ferraris. No pics yet, but I will try to make some next weekend.

Is that the date of production...?

 

According to the Book they started the Chassis in late February and the Car was completed around 15th April

edit I realise my last post was not too clear it's an April 2008 Car

Yep had one from 1997 to 2001 and always loved it, decided I'd like another and the right one just happened to come on the market

 

One thing that blows my mind is how this Ferrari in particular is by far the best GT car ever built, and that soon there will be some new one thats even better.

The 599 is the best Ferrari know how to do at this point in time - amazing how each new car has something that overshadows the one that came before it.

sorry to hijack the thread but Mark could you give us the exact date of final (carrozzeria) phase of your 599? It happens that mine (arrived yesterday at the dealer, to be delivered to me on Monday) is approx 1000 cars younger than yours and thus we could estimate the current production rate...

Do they also put those plates in other models???

 

A thousand cars in 1,5 months time? So that's 9.000 a year? Except for maybe the factory holidays (3 weeks(?)> 500 cars).

I don't think you can extrapolate that way.

 

I think 8k-8.5k/year is realistic. They were doing around 6.5-7k in 07...

 

Sweet...! That's the highest serial number I've seen yet...! Can you tell us more about your car...? Color, options, transmission, etc. - did they send you pictures of the car itself...? If so, please post.

Matricola plates, as far as I can tell, have been around since about 2001. Going through my pictures, the earliest ones I can find are:
2001 456M GT, s/n 124618, located on the dashboard, passenger's side.
2002 575M F1, s/n 127394 (later converted to a 575 GTZ), located on the dashboard, driver's side.
2001 360 Modena, s/n 123052, located on the dashboard, passenger's side.
2001 360 Spider F1, s/n 123122, located on the dashboard, passenger's side.
2001 550 Barchetta, s/n 123688, located on the dashboard, passenger's side.
2001 550 Maranello, s/n 123462, located on the dashboard, passenger's side.

All other models whose Matricola plate is on the passenger's side of the dashboard: Challenge Stradale, F430, F430 Spider, 430 Scuderia, Enzo (passenger side below and to the right of the dash).

All other models whose Matricola plate is on the driver's side of the dashboard: Superamerica, 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti.

There are some models on which I cannot see a Matricola plate even though I can clearly see either side of the dash.

My 04 360 was 136355 and had the plaque on the lid of the glovebox (passanger side).

On my 599 the plaque is on the drivers side.

360 AND 599 specs: blu Tour de France, beige interior, scudeti, red calipers, F1 box. For the 599 I got the full electric recaro seats and grey stiching but no daytona. 360 photos on my profile and if you can look up 2004 archives. 599 photos Monday night after I get actual delivery! Yes they did include a file with photos of the car on the assembly line.

So both your 360 and your 599 are Tour de France with beige interior...?

Have you slept...? I bet you don't sleep until Monday when you finally take delivery. I would be beside myself if I were you. Congratulations - I can't wait to see the pictures.

What makes you think I was in MC?
Yes I did sleep, one's second Ferrari is much less exciting than getting one's first (great nevertheless!!).

I didn't realize you said "was" - I thought you still owned the 360. It was spotted in Monaco during the Grand Prix.

I haven't checked out the pictures of your 599 yet, but I'm going to look for them now...!
