Recently becoming a Ferrari owner has proved to be a whole new experience. I have met a lot of interesting people who can perform various services for my Ferrari.

I wanted to ask whom can I take my Ferrari in for service?

I had a guy introduce him-self as a fully certified technician by Ferrari of Italy, I think his name is Stuart Schikora. Stuart mentions he can tune my engines electronics for an extra 150hp. I would like to ask fellow members if they have had any experiences with this person services? I finally had a chance to go out for a nice drive couple of weeks back and I was on my way back from a road trip with the Ferrari, I pulled into the gas station near Willow Springs and a short guy by the name of Kivork walks up and introduces himself and tells me what a beautiful Ferrari I have. Kivork mentions he is a certified factory trained service technician and has worked for various Ferrari dealerships and has awesome reputation and has a state of the art facility at his house.

I would like to ask fellow on line bloggers to lend some advice about, Mr.Schikora and Kivork.

I thinking of playing it safe and just visit Ferrari of Beverly Hills for my service needs.

That looks like a really bad experience. Thank you for the advice about this person, I am going to play it safe and use Ferrari of Beverly Hills for service, I know I will pay more for service and parts and do not have a problem with paying more. Really not interested in anymore independent shops any more after reading that link posted, although the independent shops recommended might be one of the best in town by fellow members who use them and have only a good reputation but I seem not to have any good luck with any independent shops.

What really troubles me is the quid pro quo basis most of these independent shops work on, and it is contingent basis of “I will do something free for you if you give me a good online reputation”. Am I wrong for being worried about this?

I can't comment on that since I've only used an authorized dealer for my car. I recommended an independent because I thought that was what you were looking for. I'm sure FOBH does great work. :)

If you're in LA (fill out your profile here so people can help you), I think Eugenio (Eugenio's Ferrari Service) up in San Gabriel is the man. Here in San Diego, we have Gary Bobileff and now Cavallo Motorsports (FChat'er Jabramson) in Carlsbad. Gary has worked on my car.

If your car is older (355 or earlier), an independent is the way to go. If it's a new F430/599/612, then obviously take it to the dealer.

I'm sorry for the delayed response, but I am new to Ferrari Chat. I have to tell you that I will never be caught dead at Ferrari of BH. I have not had the best experiences there and I am sure that there are some other owners who feel the same. All you have to do is ask around a bit.

I had my 430 there for an annual service and once they gave me the estimate I had my car picked up on a flatbed and took it over to F and M Motorsports on Pico Blvd for Guiseppe to do the annual service. I found him to be very kind and he definately knows his way around all the current cars. Even better, his prices are very fair. If I am not mistaken, he is the only Factory Trained Tech that was trained on the 430 and 559 that has an Independent repair shop. Just so you know, he was a Technician at Ferrari of BH and also the Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills and everyone that I have spoken to about Guiseppe respects him for his knowledge and his honesty.

Great that you had a good experience at F and M.

However, you're contradicting yourself in your over-emphasis of "Factory Training".....because you also claim you took your car to FoBH and had a

very bad experience....and everybody their is "Factory Trained".

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202519

Therefore, how good, and what is, and how meaningful is, Factory Training?

    Makes you wonder.

    IMHO

Sorry for my misuse of words. "Factory Trained" would be someone who has Certificates indicating that they have passed some class or course that the Factory has had and they have attented. The reason for me mentioning the he is "Factory Trained" is because I noticed some certificates from Ferrari/Maserati of North America in his office. So for your statement of 'how good, and what is, and how meaningful is, Factory Training' I hope that answers your question. The bottom line is that he is very honest and his knowledge is very reassuring.

My "Bad" experiences has to do with the service that I have had at FoBH. I have a 550 that was serviced at FoBH for many years and my cars will never show up there ever again. It helps that Giuseppe (Sorry I mispelled it before) enjoys to work on 12 cyl as well.

As I reread my post, I don't think I stated that 'everybody there is "Factory Trained"' but Giuseppe "is the only Factory Trained Tech that was trained on the 430 and 559 that has an Independent repair shop." I ma sure that the 3 lead techs at FoBH are "Factory Trained" but I am not sure of all the other techs there.

I hope I answered all your questions about my post. I would also invite you to call or have a conversation with Giuseppe at his shop since you are local. You may be very pleased.

WOW! Just bought your Ferrari and already approached by two scoundrels wanting to service your car.

Are you wearing a sign or something?? What kind of luck is that?
