GREY LP640 CRASHES ON HIGHWAY AND TWO MEN TAKE OFF!

The really interesting, and stupid, thing about this mess is that by running away and taking the plates, the owner puts himself in the position of eating the loss. If he denies driving it and makes an insurance claim on the basis of the car being stolen, he risks being charged with insurance fraud - far more serious than an impaired or failing to remain charge.

 

yup exactly jamie. he's f--ked. $385,000 out the window. insurance wont touch this one with a 10 foot pole.

 

I'm sure hes not completely stupid. He will most likely get paid out. I wonder what caused the accident. maybe it was planned, the car wasn't exactly selling 6 speed + primer looking paint + rediculously small exotic market of canada = bad situation for that car

 

His actions argue otherwise

 

He must have been drunk. If he smashed the car while DUI, then the insurance will never pay out.

He ran thinking that if he sobers up, he would have a better chance at a claim.

I thought this whole scenario seemed a bit fishy to me. I never met the owner so I wouldn't know if he is reputable or not.

Maybe the accident was just bad luck?

 

I saw the owner the day they recieved the LP640. He was old (50ish) and was from Iran I believe. He didn't look to knowledgable about cars to me.

Now that I think about it, I think we saw this car in front of Sassafraz about three hours before the crash. He'd most likely already started drinking at that point.
