My Top 10 in no particular order: ELO Styx Rush Led Zeppelin SRV & Double Trouble Iron Maiden pre-Black (okay, maybe a little bit of Black) Metallica Megadeth Jamiroquai Alice Cooper
Pink Floyd, Have just about all their albums!, and John Mayer not sure about a third though, maybe Led Zep., The Doors, (?)
Big Sweet fan here as well. Saw them live a couple of times and they were great. Listening to Ballroom Blitz today as well.
Muse, MUSE, MUSE!!! Velvet Revolver Stone Temple Pilots Soundgarden Jet AC/DC Arctic Monkeys Audioslave
This thread shows all of your ages...Don't ask me how I know! I'm so glad to see other people don't like Bruce Springsteen. Yuck! I love too many bands to list....but recently I went to Crue Fest and I now have a new appreciation for Papa Roach. They were awesome live!
Did you see them before the lineup changed in the early 80s ? I would kill to have been able to see that...what an amazing and versatile band. So many popular bands give credit to the Sweet as a major influence but they never seem to get the respect they deserve.
Right now, (my taiste changes with the seasons) U2 (People leave Bono alone, we all know he's the biggest number 2) R.E.M. Coldplay Pink Floyd Blue October John Mayer is really good to, especially since he's off the pop kick and getting into the blues/jazz feel.
Wowe.. We have the complete opposite tastes in music... isnt that crazy ? Except for Pink Floyd, which I love, I literally cant stand any of the other artists you mentioned.
I like 95% of U2's music. I like REM but not all of their music. I like Coldplay alot, even more after seeing them on Austin City Limits. Blue October has a few decent song's, there is alot of talent imho in their writing. John Mayer is an excellent guitarist but not my cup of tea. Out of all 5 band's the only album/CD's I own are Pink Floyd.
I like Dream Theater...much respect for Pet's guitar abilities. but I have to be in the right mood to listen to them...same way I feel about Marillion (an amazing band - at least with Fish)
1. Queensryche: Geoff Tate vocal ability..need I say more? The rest of my votes are based on category: 70's Classic Rock: Zepplin 80's Rock: Iron Maiden, Rush & Van Halen 90's Rock/Metal: Metallica, Alice in Chains, and Peark Jam 2000- Linkin Park prior to their latest one which is too overplayed. Hybrid Theory is an awesome CD Best band to come out in the last 10 years: Disturbed, awesome musicianship and THE most intelligent lyrics of any band I have followed. Stuck on an island and can bring 1 CD: Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime Honorable Mention Bands: Dream Theater Dave Matthews Boston
Wow...Im impressed. Great selection (except for the DMB) I wish Tate could still hit those notes...saw them earlier this year and was bit disappointed.
I got to see Queensryche when they opened for Judas Priest a couple years ago in Vegas, we were second row on the floor and I got a guitar pick from Michael Wilton, very fun night.
Best band to come out in the last 10 years: Disturbed, awesome musicianship and THE most intelligent lyrics of any band I have followed. good job!
