I have long been interested in a 599 . . .until I sat in one last week. . . I'm 6'5,...and cannot fit comfortably..... any other tall guys out there? What did you guys do, to enjoy this car? Any modifications?
Take a look at this thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=137993913#post137993913 The original poster states that he is 6.7 and that he fits in the 599 comfortably (in fact he ordered one as you can see in a later thread). You might want to get in touch with him. Are you sure you played with all the seat regulations? I'd be surprised if you couldn't fit at 6.5. I'm "only" 6.2 and found the interior very spacious the one time I sat in a 599.
No idea how is that possible. I'm also 6'5", 220 lbs and had absolutely no problem space wise. Found the 599 to be the most comfortable and spacious car of that type bar none....
The previous owner of my 550 is a tall, and big guy. He owns a 612 and a 599. The 599 is up for sale right now because it's too small for him - he just can't get enough of his 612 in which he fits comfortably. So it does happen. Onno
That's me. Headroom is fine, legroom is fine. Seat's a bit narrow for my back but not uncomfortably so.
Couple friends are NBA, retired. One has a 612, the other has been in my 599 and fits well. 6'8 fit the 599, 6'9 in 612. Long in torso and leg. Large framed people do not fit the seats well. Low BMI seems prerequisite.
Im 6'6" 260 and can fit well enough in 348, 355, 360 and F40LM i'd hope a 599 would be as roomy if not roomier than all of those.
Everyone's personal experience is valuable but not conclusive. The 599 can accomodate long legs very easily. If you have a long torso, though, headroom will likely be compromised. It is, in my experience, the smallest of the current line in this dimension. I am 6'5" and fit fine in our 612 but my head was in the ceiling of the 599. I found it pretty similar in headroom to our Gallardo. Definitely look into the 612 or consider a seat swap in the 599. You could put some 550/575 sport seats in and get a couple inches at least.
