The Challenge Stradale by Hotwheels was made before the Elite series came out... There are no Elite Challenge Stradales.

I bought mine for $30 from Exoticar at a car show... They are horribly done... However, they're the "only game in town" for a 1:18 scale Challenge Stradale.

A tangential question: does Mattel simply not ship the non-Elite regular-quality 1/18 "100% Hot Wheels" models to Canadian retailers anymore?

Around 2001, I remember there being a shelf or two of them at any typical Zellers, with most of them being Ferraris. I bought a F355 and a F50 but then I was in a financial situation when I couldn't increase my collection, and, when I finally started getting some money in again, there were only a handful of 100% models left on the shelves, mostly Mustangs and Hummers (no Ferraris), but, the past year or two, I can't even find those anymore. The only 1/18 Hot Wheels models I ever see at normal retail stores in the Ottawa area are the occasional Hot Wheels Classics, and I think that's mostly just unsold old stock, and the new 1960's TV Batmobile model (which I find tempting).

Eh, I know the 100% Hot Wheels 1/18 models aren't exactly model-geek quality, but the F50 (which I bought at a Zellers in Montreal) and the 250GT California Spider (which I had to get online) look pretty good for the price and don't stick out like a sore thumb when parked with the two Kyosho Ferraris I have and even the F355 Spider looks decent as shelf-filler.

Oh, then I guess the 250 GT California I have must have been part of the final 100% Hot Wheels lineup.

I wish some company (yes, even Maisto) could sublicense the budget 1/18 Ferrari model rights for North America. (The two Porsches, the 1965 Corvette Stingray, and the Chevy Impala taxi that I have in 1/18 scale from Maisto look great for models that I bought at Zellers and Loblaws for less than $20.)

This model is such a F-up by HW. The sills are wrong and so is the rear undertray . The mirrors too. The seats, door panels, lower dash and center console are nothing like in the real car. At least they got the kick on top of the tail, because other than that and the front bumper this is just a regular 360 Modena

Certainly not worth $150... Maybe $50, shipped. A couple of months ago there were a half dozen that hit ebay in the same week and a couple of them went in the $40-$50 range.

Agreed - the model is pretty much horrible... however, they did change the front bumper from the regular 360 Modena (have a look at the pic I just posted comparing just that.)

That is exactly what I said. The front bumper and the engine hood are the only differences. I have the model untouched and I am going to keep it this way, but I am also working on another which will have all the issues addressed
