    the driver a french rallyeman, who is the 959 owners, say that the f 40 is a pure race car , brutal and powerfull, the 959 is more sweet and more techno with 4x4 wheels and 6 speed gearbox and more electronic than the f 40 , and the 959 is more adapted for this kind of road, the f 40 is a race track car

    I remember enough French from high school to understand that he claimed 420 HP.

    Thought the GTO had more than that. (Or is the Frenchman being modest?)

    The 288 GTO had 400 and the F40 had 478.

    So he was exaggerating a bit? Hmmm. . . I'll take your word, although I really did think the GTO had more HP.

    The GTO of the man in the video is not an Evo, but maybe those are the HP figures that stood out in my mind.

    Great video, what a wild an animalistic sound the F40 makes. I was just driving my humble little RSX on roads similar to those (Great Smoky Mts Nat'l Park) and it was a blast, I can't imagine how much fun it'd be to take a 959 and an F40 for a spin on those roads!

    Frenchman being modest...hardly something I would expect ;) anymore than believe that this is a 288. The stock 288 had 400HP, the engine is quite similar to the F40 - add bigger turbos and proper engine management and 550HP+ is quite feasible on a 288 (my dream car).
