Guys: noticing a trend here...only a handful of clean CS' for sale, and just curious what the original sticker was? everything else is depreciating since the summer, yet CS are holding and improving in value. starting to re-think my quest for a clean 430 and focus on my search for a clean CS. from a purely numbers game, the CS will depreciate less over the span of its life, and we have yet to go another 6 months before the 05 f430's slow down in depreciation. i welcome any thoughts.

Looking like a full-options CS there! One thing, you forgot to post her pics, didn't you Rick??.......hehe
Love this description: Handy fire extinguisher - $420. I would have thought Fire Extinuisher would have been a good enough description.
1. is it general consensus that they will hold value stronger then the rest of the 360/430 pack (non-scuderia)? 2. how many production CS were made in 2004?
I'm biased, but so far the CS has held it's value better than the 360 or 430. I believe there were 1,274 CS's made world wide.
My 2004 CS (I am second owner) sticker price was $197k and change. The only options were leather interior (upper dash and roof panel) and hifi system.
By the way, it had 5k miles on it when I bought it last Spring and I paid north of its original sticker after looking at a bunch of stradales and losing 2 nices ones by being out bid.
My CS listed for 202K but 6K was added because of airshipping, so total was 208K. Car had stripe, battery charger, red calipers, fire ext, and radio.
I didn't see the leather lower dash and leather seat options listed, which I have. I also have the Leather upholstery for the headliner, Leather upholstery for rear bench wall & underdoor mouldings and the handly fire extinguisher. I also swapped black calipers for red (not repainted) What are the option codes for the lugage ... I am the second owner and apparently, the first owner kept a few pieces of luggage. I have my the code tucked away, but all I have in the car is the two leather straps that fasten on the rear wall. I would really like to find a set of what is missing. This is the finest car I've ever dreamed of having. G
thanks guys for all the information. tough pill to swallow in the 200K market right now. clean 06 430's are abound and i guess i will have to drive both of them to justify the extra nut for the CS. CS wins hands down for styling, however i am sure like most of you, the 430 accelerates and handles a little better (off-track) time to start traveling around the country in search of my next....
i don't know much about the luggage options, but you mention a couple leather straps with something missing on the rear wall. these straps hold a small package that contains a bottle of flat tire repair gunk as i recall.
Those are on the rear wall of the 'trunk' at the front of the car but I got the impression he was referring to the firewall behind the seats.
MotorCars International had a nice-looking CS (Scuderia Rosso with stripe) with about 3k miles that was available for only a few days at $199,500. Gone. Yup, good ones are $200k and don't last long at that. An acquaintence of mine traded in his nice CS for a Scud and the dealer sold it the same day.
Interesting, CS selling easy at $200k which isn't any drop of late. Scud's of late have had a $60k+ drop and several selling at $325k. I do think the eventual "step pricing" that happens with Ferraris will have the margin at $80k, but didn't think it would get that close that quick.
I would call BS on a CS being sold at 200K if the "it sold at 200K" came from the dealer that just sold it. There are too many CS in the US to support that, they're still 165-185, but not 200K.
Yeah, I can not confirm what MCI sold their CS for. But it was listed at $199,500. They didn't budge much when I bought mine from them. Doubt that they went below $195k. My friend didn't tell me exactly how much his CS went for when he traded it in for the Scud, but it was "around $200k." Last Spring I offered $210,000 to Andy Cohen for one and was turned down. He sold that car to a FChatter for more than $215,000. I offered $200,000 on another and was rebuffed. I looked at several more but when I had the opportunity to get my titanium CS at $205k, I said "deal." I only looked at CS' with less than 10k miles on them. None were $185k maybe they are now with the economic situation. God only knows what lurks within a CS for $165k....yikes.
