Does anyone have an interest in (if the roads are clear and weather is decent) heading for a drive?
Bob, I'd really like to go, but I have a caliper I have to rebuild. I'm not sure how all of that will work out, so I'm not going to commit. Ciao, George
I forgot that Sunday is the one car event in Roswell..........so how does this sound? 1) Saturday is the day 2) Meet @ Starbucks across from TheAvenues (400/X13) as we have done before. 3) Leave @ 9am, as before. .........I know of a route that, if we consider the Chevron @ end-of-400 as the starting point, would be about 110+ miles RT from there. (add another 26 to go from Starbucks up to the end of 400). We would head up to TurnersCorner, make a right (vs the left we made last time to head north up towards the NeelsGap trading post)........head down the road a few miles to Alt75, then up towards Helen to take 356/197 up along LakeBurton. At the "top" of Burton, we would head west on US76 and then pick-up 17/75 to head south again. Then we can catch 180 (the side of 180 that passes BrasstownBald) and back-over-to us129 and take that south, then back-track homeward. .....While up in the mountains today, 348 (Richard Russel Pkwy) has "stuff" on it at the higher elevations, so honestly that road is "out". If that sounds ok, I can put some directions together, and possibly a simple map.............Depending on when the route ends, we could possibly stop somewhere for a bite.
Thanks Allen. I love it but haven't got to use it much with all the rain. Saturday should work for me Bob. Rick . . . .
Bump........... (Vicky and I are going to take the Vision on the route tomorrow/Thursday, because she's working Saturday and can't make it with us). Bob
Unfortunately I'll be driving up the Florida Turnpike on Saturday morning, so maybe next time for me.
Drive faster, leave earlier............. (Correction, and I'll post the route tomorrow, but looks like the route may be 134miles from the Chevron starting point. Then add +26miles x2 round trip from Starbucks). So the total R/T may be about 186miles. VINNY........... HOLD OF ANY RAIN........ THATS YOUR JOB!
Hopefuelly it (if any) rains much later in the day..................... I'll have a good timing when I get back tomorrow afternoon from the bike ride.

This Sunday is Caffeine and Octane at the Avenues at East Cobb, not a drive but usually a good turnout.
