Yeah, if the costs are gonna overtake buying the 355, then I don't think it's worth it. The only thing I don't like about the 348's is the back...... but when I look at the 355's I'm in love.... . So, I think soon inshAllah, I will get a yellow F355 Spider. Hey, what's that really rare yellow the f355 comes in? Is it mondial yellow or something? It's a very rare yellow
Oh my God.... When I get a F355 inshAllah, I want to have nice rims wide tires on it. Like real nice rims. Thanks Husker for that picture. It is beautiful

Personally, I don't think I understand you 348 guys. The side strakes are a polarizing element that some like, some don't. But the back of a 348 looks fantastic, and matches the sides. It just completes the look. I felt the same way about my old 512: I have never been a fan of the cheese cutters, but the back is simply the best Ferrari a$$ made. I fricken HATE the 512M with its conflicting design elements that make it look like it has a bad body kit. As for the 348, I love the heavily louvered rear deck too. And like the 355, the dimensions are not captured in pictures. The rear is wide and the fenders swell out from the buttresses... it's an awesome thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't disagree with your points entirely. The back of the 348 and TR were indeed well thought-out and they do, if you use your imagination a little, complement the side strakes. And they don't look "bad" per se either. My problem with the rears of both is that they are very un-Ferrari. When one thinks of the posterior of the Ferrari - from the 60s through today - one thinks of round lamps and the chrome horse. I think this is why the slatted grill concept hasn't set well with some, as the years have gone on. It was at once interjected and at once eliminated, almost as if Ferrari thought twice about the concept before they did it, but almost certainly only thought once before they ditched it. A certain element of 348 and TR owners, including myself, have sought to "restore" their cars to a look more in line with the traditional Ferrari automobile.
The 348...there's nothing else like it.... well...except for a Testarossa http://www.fgear.tv/348.php
Yep, it was mine... at one time... well, not SO long ago... Mine was done by a previous owner, from bumpers and panels molded from a local 355. I have no idea what it cost... probably around $8K to $10K... but then labor is cheap here... I liked it...348 power, and no hair gel required.... Mike in Kuwait
.............. 'hair gel' is not only a privileged 355 owners ritual ............ but also a 'state of mind' ..........
I agree with Husker 100%. .... Guys, anyway, what is the deal with the 'hair-gel' thing? I'm new, so fill me in please. :-D. You know, the thing with the 355 is: I went to a wedding, and there were all these REAL expensive cars there, Bentley, Mercedes AMG, blah blah blah......then there was a yellow 355 Berlinetta........IT ABSOLUTELY KILLED EVERY CAR OUT THERE ON LOOKS. You know..and it only costs around 55-70K nowdays.....It's just the WAY it looks...even tho it's a Mid-ninties car, it beats all the modern cars nowdays in looks. One might even think it's a 2007 or 2006 or something... I love the F355.....
It would look just like a 355, so if that's the look you want just buy a 355 and don't ruin a good 348.
yeah, same with the black one zero posted.. normally the rear end "flare" and deck lid are giveaways but they went all out on that black one..
...you know what I would love to see.. a 355 with a 348 front bumper/foglights .. anyone do a 348 to 355 conversion whilst keeping the 348 front?
