I am selling my 2 owner CS and would like to poll what everyone would think a good price would be. No stories car, 9500 miles, all services Rosso Scuderia, new tricked out stainless pedals and dead pedal, newly painted yellow calipers with logo, absolutely perfect in every way with stripe. Car was sold new by Wide world in CT. I purchsed it from Motorcars International and am the second owner. Never tracked. What do you guys think? Mark
I think your answer is obvious. A good price is the price at which you are willing to part with it. If you are not in dire need of cash, you like the car and you are still mulling over your options in terms of its replacement, then the price is higher - $180k. If you are cash-strapped, dislike the car or you are in lust with some other toy, ie. you want to offload the CS ASAP, then the price is lower - $160k. For a under 10k mile car with stripe, I think you would be crazy or desperate to take any lower than that.
I just spent 6 weeks looking for a nice, no stories, low miles CS. Based upon what I saw (and bought) I would say the "real" market, i.e. that where transactions will actually happen, is now $150-$160 for such a car, lower with miles or stories. In addition I would say the price trend trend and pressure continues lower over the near term.
Yea...like I said, bad time to be selling the CS if you actually like it - that is, if the market price for is the car is$150-160k. If you don't need the money, like real bad, I wouldn't sell now. Not to compare apples to oranges, but they made about as many F40's (more than 1,311) as they did stradales. What car would you buy for $150-160k to replace a stradale? A R8? A 911 GT3 RS? A Ford GT? I guess I am biased but I'll keep my stradale.
try to find a buyer...that's the tough part. People with money already have toys. Wanabes aren't going part with that kind of money when the economy sucks and gets worse everyday. I would wait until summer when hopefully things look a little more promising (not positive however). I think I saw your car CL for $180K. GL
I think the market is a bit higher than that for a well sorted out CS. I think a couple members have beautiful examples for sale and are in the mid to high 170's (yes asking price...always a bit of wiggle room). Even on Ebay it seems they have rebounded a bit. Again always the "must sell" type deals out there, but i think overall the prices seem to of stabalized for the here and now, however with the doom and gloom predicted who knows what tomorrow may look like!! but as stated many times....you get what you pay for!! just my .02
Marknkidz, Not disagreeing with you at all. I think the distinction is between "Asking prices" and actual transaction prices.
I would say asking price should be around 150k, not 180 like others think. For example, here is a very nice 6k Mile car for sale by FOD, asking 169k. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=242
mark i think the right number now is at $160K retail , my local dealer just took one in on a trade and they paid $130K
I think this seems to be a lot closer to market pricing. 180 sounds a bit high given the where everything is. I think someone here is asking 159 for a CS with 14k miles (a bit mileage than yours), single owner, etc. So thats asking prices and you can work your math from there. My guess is that you'll be doing pretty good at 160 and the window in a private sale is 140-160.
After much reflection, I think that I will post pictures of the car... In the "NOT FOR SALE" thread. Thanks Mark
