Changing the gear oil in my 89 328. Anybody ever use LUCAS 75W-90 synthetic gear oil? I have read some of the other threads but "red line" does not seem to be available in my area.

DAC, I see that you're in Regina. I just ordered 5 quarts of Redline 75W90NS from NAPA Ottawa. They were able to source it easily enough (and very quickly) from a local supplier. You might want to put in a call to your local NAPA store ... they might be able to help.

I also recommend Red Line. I changed to it this fall and it made a big difference.

Agree with others, ger RedLine or, my fave, Amzoil S2000 (or whatever it is called) SVT or some such. Sorry for being so vague, been years since i bothered with the 308 tranny. i CAN say the Amsoil did great is a lab oil test and shifting was excellent. And no, AM NOT a lame Amsoil head, it is just that the stuff worked in the tranny.

I just ordered Redline 75-90NS direct from factory in Benicia, California, online. It took less than two minutes and oil
was received via UPS two days later. Perfect!

My local foreign car parts store stocked some Redline products including MTL. Their price was 75% higher per quart
    than the factory pricing.

I think if you were to poll users 80% would say redline. The PO of my car used Royal Purple and it was terrible in my car, I switched to Redline and you'd swear it was a new tranny, it is so smooth. I'd never use anything else but redline. I change it annually. (probably overkill)
