WHY??????? You can view this waste of a 360 on ebay: Item number: 230269392950 Image Unavailable, Please Login
I suspect this is one way to try and dodge the lawsuit that Ferrari placed on him. I'm not sure how it turned out but they basically told him to remove any and all Ferrari logos and to cease referring to it as a Ferrari. Anyone know what happened or if it was settled? I doubt that anyone who knows about it will buy it with pending litigation.
The builder of the 360 limo is/was a member here, so he'd be the best source of info - I remember the thread on the project from a year or two ago.
I think he did great work on it. At least he didn't go halfway and then start to cheap out, its pretty impressive. Plenty more 360's out there to be had.
Yep, here ya go. dclimo.........Dan is his name. Dan has not been on Ferrarichat since March this year. Here is a thread on this limo and what happened to it. Badges were removed by the looks of it. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137022210&postcount=1
these are ugly, and should be in the funny pictures area...but you asked: [no, I don't know if they are real, but....((I sure hope this does NOT invoke the wooden ****))] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If only he would have fought Ferrari in court...Ferrari would have gotten POWNED. All the parts badged Ferrari ARE indeed Ferrari parts. There would be no contest
You'll have to google/read the problem: I believe it went something like 'infringement of copyright to call it a Ferrari 360" which Ferrari clearly showed it was not. To sell it with that title is incorrect IMO.
True. As if any car company can tell you how you can, or cannot, customize your car. I think they are a bit full of themselves in this matter. As far as limos go, it's pretty cool. Sure beats a Town car. Darrell.
People who do that should be lynched... :-( Seriously, what is the point to do that other than for commercial purposes... (and to get the attention from Ferrari's lawyers). You cannot be a Ferrari fan and even remotely consider doing such a thing...
C'mon, this is one of the best hot-rod / modded cars I have seen. Of course it is a bit silly, but I believe that is the point! The work looks to be top notch, and (as has been stated already) it's not like this was a rare car. The perfect car for a Tifosi to party in, especially in some crowded city. LOVE the gull-wing doors, what a hoot! I'd book a ride in that in a heart beat.
If the Sultan of B fronted Luca de M with enough bucks Ferrari would make him one of those without a second thought.
Its very cool...you guys are just mad becuase you didn't think of it. I could only imagine the bookings that limo would get for weddings, nights out on the town etc. I would buy it and rent it out. It would be paid for within a year..
People say that 360's are all bigger than their 8 cylinder predecessors. This just proves that point... I really don't care for any limos. I'd rather have a mercedes and a driver. Now when I saw the 328 stretched, made me gag a bit. Robb
he must remove all prancing horse emblems,if not he has serious legal problems, what do you guys think about, does that limo really deserves the emblems or not. http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2008/03/ferrari-threatens-to-take-legal-actions.html
I would say that Ferrari's lawyers are trying to justify their jobs....and not doing the marque any favors with actions like this. If they don't want badging on a car that was bought as a Ferrari and subsequently modified, they should stop selling cars. JMHO.
This is a rather ancient repost. It looks more like publicity for the "limo" rather than a genuine action to stop trademark infringement.
