Today was one of the all time great Ferrari days!!!!!!!!!! Met Gleggy and a couple of VeeDubs (sorry Phil) at Samford at 6.45 and had a great drive over Mt Glorious, through Fernvale, across to Amberley and on to Qld Raceway. Horsey was wonderful!! We then had a really good time on the track, both long circuit and Clubman, and then WE WENT HOME THE SAME WAY!!!!!! And I got to passenger for 6 or 7 laps in Bevans F40, with Charlie driving. Sorry, having too much fun to take any photos. Below are some times, I was number 4, the F40 was number 9 and Moretti number 6. (when John saw the times he said ****ING BULL**** JESUS! ) And Thanks a lot Gleggy for thinking of the route. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I hate you I had a crap drive through bumper to bumper traffic from the Coast and then destroyed the brakes (metal to metal ), have just ordered new rotors and pads from the US , will post pics later when I stop crying THREE seconds is an eternity Horsey, but I will not give in until I do better I would love a ride in the F40 one day ... even with YOU driving
Sounds like fun! I cant wait to see pics!! Sorry to hear of your brakes JM! Were the pads half worn or something?? Metal to metal and the rotors are chewed up??
some photos from today ...... couple of glamours in Horse and Gleggy .... Gleggy's car is featured, it is sickingly clean Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
stupidity on my part Pap, checked everything bar the pad thickness ... turned out the owner was thicker than the pads also if you do QR you need to remember it is a heavy braking circuit so make sure the brakes are up to the job .... unlike mine
F40 looks awesome mate!! As does HORSE and Mr Glegg's car!! That F40 gets driven all the time eh?? Front bar looks like its seen some wars. Oh, I see!! So you flushed the brake fluid, but you didnt check the thickness of the pads while it was on the hoist? Jeeez!!
If his ears were any bigger, we'd call him dumbo. The owner or horse is a good looking bloke, isn't he?
Yessssssss, it was justa bloody great. It took me back to the good O'l days of driving. Normally it would have been Horsey, myself, and Little Dino -FLAT!! The open road with NO traffic, NO dickheads driving at dot mph, frightened of being one click over the limit, or bus drivers taking up the whole f#*"ing road. It was like a shot of pure oxygen. There and back, and when we came across a slow car, people actually pulled over and let us pass!!!!!!!!!!. It was like the parting of the red sea. One of those moments that you wish you could pop a CD in and watch again and again. A perfect beginning, middle, and end, and to top it all off, to see the steam comming out of Moretti's ears after he had been sitting in traffic for hours when Horse and I told of our great drive to the track, made it even sweeter. Thanks JM
Sounds like it was a great day. Horse I can relate to your drive in the F40. I know it must have been sensational. Is there a web link to the times. Bit hard to read. I'm getting old and my eyes are struggling to pick the detail. Is this track for the QLD rally?
This car made an appearance elsewhere. Covered in a layer of dust, but at least it saw the light of day. Image Unavailable, Please Login
