We did our first custom 355 steering wheel recently for an Fchat member. Its an all suede wheel, like the Fiorano, with a red leather 12 o'clock ring and red stitching. Our customer was able to get us photos despite the recent Santa Barbera fires - that's why the car is a little dirty!

Our 355 wheel program can be seen on the MAcarbon website. http://www.macarbon.com/store/ferrari-355-steering-wheels-152/

We create each wheel to the customer's specification. We have cores in stock so there is no down time on your car while we make the wheel.

Feel free to PM, email, or give us a call if you have questions.

Can you make parts using a yellow twill weave that matches the factory CF seats?

sorry to hijack thread (wheel looks great) but why is the speedo and rpm gauges not "0" if the car is off?

Ive noticed this on a few 355s.

It's been like that on every Ferrari I have owned. So I guess I can say "They all do that". ;) That is were Veglia sets the stop pin on the gauge.

We've done some Kevlar parts but I;ve never liked how they turned out. We looked at trying to match the Kevlar in the F40 but couldn't find an appropriate weave.

For the 348, its probably to buy a 360CGT wheel or something from Ricambi. I wanted to put one on my 308 but I think they are a lot more expensive now.... But the wheel on the 348 is a standard Momo, so there's a lot of choices out there.

The 360cs wheel is like $700.00 now. Not a fault of Ricambi but rather Ferrari's greed. So I take it you guys want more than that to recover a stock 348 wheel.

I didn't realize it had gotten so high (360CS wheel). But yeah, it would be something similar. We don't have Momo's mass production or cheap materials advantages. We also have tooling costs for each new wheel design. Those tooling costs have to spread out over a production 'run'. We also try to source a few core wheels so that the customers do not have incapacitated cars while we work. All of that added up means our price for the 348 wheel would get you a CS wheel. But the CS wheel is not bespoke and made to your specifications....

Thanks John, I do like the fact that you guys are a custom shop and you can taylor the wheel to my specs. When I get ready to make the switch I will call you. I would much rather give my money to a shop like yours than the greedy bastards at F-me. Oops, I mean Ferrari.:D Keep up the good work.:)

Thanks Copter. We'll do our best to make you a 'super cool' wheel. The steering wheels are actually my favorite parts. They allow us to do something unique for the customer instead of just a CF part. They are also the ultimate in your face part -or more accuratly in your hand. They have to be perfect and any fault will show up. Its taken us a while to get them where we want them to be but we've been very happy with the results.

Yellow on the steering wheel is sharp. With a nice thick thread it really stands out on suede. We can do the 355 wheel in normal leather with perforated grips (like OEM) as well. Attached is a Gallardo wheel with yellow stitching. It has carbon of course.

John, Can you make the wheel feel a little beefier? It's always felt too narrow for me.

I have a wheel from a 94 euro, - 95 challenge 355. (non airbag) Any idea what price it would be to refinish with carbon upper and lower areas? Feel free to PM me.

Maybe I am not following correctly, but a 360CS steering wheel is close to $3K....

360 CGT wheel is $700. Its a non-airbag wheel in suede. The CS wheel is $3800 list....

We did all the carbon in the 355. I'll have to look at my records but I think the sills are three or four years old. This customer (an active Fchatter) also has our wheel on his 360CS.

For pricing of a 'normal' 355 wheel you can check the 355 wheel page here: http://www.macarbon.com/store/ferrari-355-steering-wheels-152/
We are workin on a configurator that will price everything out as you pick your options but its a few weeks (at best) away.

We would be happy to look at the Euro wheel.

We have looked at padded wheels. The normal route is to add some extra foam below the leather but those have always felt to spoungy. We need to take a look at some other options.

We could thicken up the 355 wheel by about 2.5MM to 3MM. We've done that with a number of R8 and Mercedes CLK- Black Series wheels. I think that extra thickness would make the wheel feel pretty good!
