In honor of Ferrari's continued "involvement" in Formula 1, I thought it might be fun to point out that the 355 F1 is... - The first street car to adapt the F1 shifting mechanism to a street car - Sounds about as close to an F1 car as anything out there and - Is the only production Ferrari to actual say "F1" on the back. (I think). Had a great drive this morning being followed by a buddy in an Merc 63 Black Series. I mean, how F1 is that? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely...F1 ROCKS!!!! 60 ms shifts at 8500 rpm? are you kidding me? It's a shame how many Ferrari owners don't understand it, think it's too complex, more things to fail, etc. Yes it's more reliability risk than a threaded rod between the shifter and gearbox...but more reward too.
Not only that, but ours (GTB & GTS) are really quite rare. 1042 GTB F1 564 GTS F1 I wonder how many have survived the last 10-11 years in any kind of condition.
