http://www.wreckedexotics.com/458crashcontest/ The 2010 Ferrari F458 Italia debuted at the Frankfurt Auto show on September 15th, 2009. Ferrari has finally revealed the successor to the Ferrari F430. Here at WreckedExotics, we only want to know one thing: When will we see the first crash? The Ferrari F430, predecessor to the F458, has been involved in 96 documented crashes since 2004. The Ferrari 360 (predecessor to the F430) has been involved in 403 documented crashes since 1999. The Ferrari F458 goes on sale summer 2010 but Ferrari employees will be test driving the car long before then. A crash can happen any time, including BEFORE the launch date. ----------------- dont some of you guys work at dealers? lets work together and split the 500$ 8)
My guess is that a crash has already happened...the Federal Crash Test necessary to sell the car in the U.S. I'll take the $500 in large bills please.
I don't relish anyone's loss but... Inside 90 days of first delivery, easily. Judging from past F-car launches, one early adopter always gets stupid and puts it into a wall, immediately.
Uhmm.... Most depressing thread of the month?? Yikes. I don't want to think about any of them crashing yet.
Does the satisfaction come from guessing the correct date of a crash or that a Ferrari was involved? Guessing a date (1:365) is a little boring, eh? Personal gain from the property damage of others and possible injury....seriously?
I guess its the old plane crash theory, Nobody wants it to happen but if it does they want to see it.... Kinda morbid but more attention is paid to the negative than anything positive we do in the world..... Tony.............
It is, indeed, depressing what some people think is amusing. But this site does keep popping up on the radar, so presumably it is quite popular and as such gets a lot of visitors. Makes you wonder that so many people find the misfortune of others entertaining.
Quite morbid, but they kept their dignity. In the terms and conditions you can read this: "4. If the first Ferrari F458 crash results in ANY fatality or serious injury (as solely determined by WreckedExotics), the contest will be null and void and prize will be donated to a Road Safety Charity."
i think i read something sometime ago about some old guy in his early70's having crashed his last 7 ferraries ive got my money on him if they let em buy one
Well inside 90 days of delivery is my guess, the 458 is a seriously quick car. And after seeing that idiotic California crash i'm confident that someone will 'off' theres pretty quickly after delivery/running in. Whether or not anyone from 'the internet' will be there to witness it and take photos is another matter..
+3 ... probably be an FChatter who is in the betting... Wonder what part of the repair his 500 bucks will go to... _J
Simulated CAD testing and not enough cars to be sold to qualify for full onslaught of mandatory testing. There is a ratio that is used on how many cars have to be sold etc. my thoughts as negative as it is - have Ferrari give a 458 to lady gaga and let her Ferrari have all of the publicity if something were to happen.
Is that true, that a certain number of cars have to be sold to be required to actually crash test? I know Mosler for instance sells very few cars but they crash tested as a requirement.
