Here is a link to my in car video at the Macau GP. Hope some of you find it enjoyable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzsoDpXkuSQ This year there were lots of monster crashes in WTCC, Formula BMW, and GT Cup. So I drove very conservatively in my 430. Qualified 10th and finished 9th out of a field of 32 GT cars including Ferrari 430, Lambo Gallardo, Ginetta G50, 997 Cup S, Corvette, Aston Martin N24, and Bufori BMS. Japanese pro driver Keita Sawa won in a Gallardo, Darryl Au Young came in a close second with a 997 Cup S, and Danny Watts came in 3rd in 997 Cup. Hi Napolis, Nothing would draw a crowd of 'potential' sponsors like having the P 4/5 on display with you If it comes out this way I hope we get a chance to see it. All the best with the project. btw... looks like a lot of the GP cars from Macau are at the 'old' SPS showroom in Chai Wan for maintenance.
That is not quite an accurate reflection of how you drove. The "touch" cost you 3 places at the outset through no fault of your own so in actuality you gained 4 places on qualifying. Think you would have done even better if you weren't held up for so long by cars in front of you ONLY as a result of the touch. You did rather well to not have an "incident" as a result of the touch. In addition, through first hand experience, I know that you are rather quick on cold tyres and lap 1 and but for the touch you probably would have gained a spot or 2 rather than losing 3. Big net swing against you. Racing I know and sh_t happens!!! What car number touched you?
A Gallardo was totaled during practice with pro driver sustaining serious injury, thus casting a somber mood on everyone. For sure I could have pushed and gone quite a bit faster, but net net there's not much difference between finishing say 9th or 6th. So I just wanted to enjoy the race weekend without having to write a big check for repair bills after Macau. No money la. I think I touched with #19 RM. He's quite an experienced racer. Not sure if he moved or I moved to cause the touch. Well in any case going into Reservoir Bend on opening lap is always bit of a sphincter clinching moment, because everyone is jockeying for position.
As Napolis would say, DAT IS TRU!!!! You are right - good job to do respectably and bring car home safely
