I am teasing…I guess! I, in good conscious I could not, I would not do such a thing. There is another F Chatter here on the forum that spent a lot of time (and that is money) to R & D a new and sturdier diff/carrier for the TR. Time is money, and I must say from experience that justifies the $3K pricing. Yeah materials and services are not that expensive once ya get it all inputted and find that the dimensions and the Rockwell values are correct…..but all of that takes a lot of time and effort, and I mean, a lot of time. I found myself put into a position by the provider of these diffs/carriers, that I was not going to be allowed at any price to purchase one from the source…….so………I had to find another avenue…..and I did. My work, their R&D. Great idea, excellent upgrade and I believe @ $3k, a fair price…………..I can make it for much less, but I don’t have the hours, or I should say days, if not weeks invested into the initial work-up of the item……………Mine is a because there was a need and no source. It was a combination skylight and bizarre lighting source.................the neighbors, for the most part hated it and felt it devalued the neighborhood and then there were others that thought it was quite unique. I, for one, wanted to cause a scene (also the reason I can't buy a diff from Canada....) and liked the idea, that when giving someone directions, to my home at the time, I just said, "So it's the 4th house on the left, the one with the orange Yugo stuck in the roof..ya can't miss it. I'll leave the headlights on." Sold the house and within a month the new owner proptly removed the Yugo..........No adventure!! adventure = balls!! LOL
