You might send a message with the details of your car to info(at)308gtb.de Or use the register form on my website (see Barry's link or www.308gtb.de). Have to look what's in my files when I am at home. Robert PS: Barry, thanks for pointing people to the registry site - it is much appreciated!
Robert, Thank you for keeping that fine registry site. It's hard to believe that eight years have passed since I sent you details for my North American Fiberglass 308 GTB S/N 19399. Looking at your updated registration form, I see you now ask for the assembly number. So let me update your records for my car. The assembly number is 5A. Hi Barry, yes, it's unbelievable how fast the years rush by. But every morning the look in the mirror tells me that it's true! I think it's been 11 years ago when started collecting the 308 GTB serial numbers... Thank you for the assembly numer and the pictures. I will add the information next time I work on the website. Regards, Robert
@Romangol - Welcome to the 308 club!!!! @Robbie - I just remembered that I owe you some photos of 27009. I will try to send those out soon. I am at work now, so cant do that at the moment. PDG

The VIN you quoted is almost certainly the chassis number The engine number is on the engine and not always separately recorded
+1 A few years since I contacted Robert but he had some interesting records of my car. An excellent website
In 1979 Ferrari did not yet use the full 17-digit-VINs, only a 5-digit chassis number. So 29813 is the chassis number. As greyboxer said, you can find the engine number stamped on top of the cylinder head, in between the valve covers. It should read something like F106A?*12345* The only information about your car wich I have, is that it has been offered on eBay seven years ago: 1979 * Ferrari : 308 GTB 308 GTB with 3,790 Original Miles!
