That watch is unbelievable. It is a perfect pocket watch....other than the fact that it is worth so much I'd be afraid to take it out.

Unreal. I'm sure the guy was thinking it might have gone from $6k to $15k or so over 15 years, but $250k? Damn, I'd have that at auction right away.

You guys think it's really worth $250k?

With all the complications as well as it's historical significance, I'd have thought it would be worth a LOT more than that.

That exact pocketwatch in the video sold for over 1 mil USD at auction. Read the comments for links, proof, etc.

I think it is worth less than that!

Patek & Antiquorum have managed to inflate the values of Patek beyond ridiculous. It is a cool jig to spend 10-20 Million each year for re-purchasing watches at inflated price, then selling 30K+ watches to people who consider it 'investment.'

Take a look at Audemars Grand complication wrist watch made by Renaud & Papi. Way more cool and can be had for less than $250K.

That's true about Patek and Antiquorum, but I'd be quite happy to have them pay me $1 million bucks.

Well, the value of a watch has a lot to do with the name brand as well as the work (and really, it's artwork at that level) of the watch.

So while a R&P may have similar or more complications, there is a reason (IMO beyond PP's buying of product off the market) for the prices.
