Why would this have a black interior but red door panels? Also note the front trunk appears to be missing the cover. James in Denver PS 31K miles and recent 30K service for $59.9K. seems like a lower price, but I suspect it may have a "story".
It has def. been some work to the panel because you can see the 6.5" woofer in there. Normally it is hidden behind the door panel. It could be factory colors though. I have seen some crazy interior combos from Ferrari..
I should probably save judgment for after a real-life viewing, but my first reaction isn't too positive. I would be surprised if those were factory color door panels.
Ferrari does some CRAZY stuff......This IS factory...The all red panels look normal compared to this.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would really like to know if anyone knows more about this car because I am interested in it. I noted the interior color combination, but have seen similar in other models, with a red/black interior. What kinds of issues does a person have to watch out for with a 1995 F355?
Do a search on 355 issues or 355 problems---that should get you started with the rundown of potential problems and things to look out for...
Other than the fact there have been five previous owners, the Carfax is clean. Although I wouldn't rely on that to report a small or minor accident.
May want to do a little research on this 355. This is the car that Bourne Auto had for sale recently. They could not move because of recent past history. My understanding, sold the car for a loss at auction. The car spun a bearing, smashed windshield, missing trunk liner, no tools etc. Asked the seller for the recent 30k service records. Should show crank weld, bearings etc etc etc. The story I got for what it is worth. Prior owner could not afford car maintenance, deferred. Loss of oil, major motor damage. Shopped around to get the car fixed as cheaply as possible to sell. Did not pay. Shop exercised a mechanics lien. Insurance company bought back. Windshield smashed along the way as well as parts loss, tools gone etc. Just what I learned in my research.
Possibly the seats were originally red, but have been switched to black?? That car is currently for sale in London: http://ww6.ukwebsites.net/vehicle-details.asp?new=®ion=&order=&Model=&Make=¬Make=¬Model=&BodyType=&FuelType=&Transmission=&intMin=&intMax=&RSpage=2&ID=330825&popup=
Except for the door panels, this car is stunning and I'd grab except for color interior. BUT at a buy it now price: US $59,900.00!!!! I would have to wonder what is truly wrong with it...that's way too low IMO...
THANKS!!! I wish the Europeans would list the VIN in there for sale ads. Do they know how difficult it is to email these dealers to ask for this info?? Long Live the 355 REGISTRY!!!!
After reading what Spider348 had to say, I wouldn't call this a story car, I'd call it an RD Story Car.
Car has passed through several shops, dealers etc. Current dealer bought at auction. They may not be aware of the car's recent history. When the car was at Bourne Auto they were pretty upfront about the prior owners problems.
Crank weld....??? Are you saying they welded the crankshaft? Or does it plain need an engine rebuild ??
I was told the crank required welding. Probably to build up the damaged bearing surfaces. I was told a good shop welded the crank for what that is worth. Several, not all, connecting rods were replaced also. I was considering the car when at Bourne. I was advised by several local Ferrari techs to purchase the car low enough to budget money for possible repairs. I passed on the car.
yep, but this is my old car no doubt. Its a long story. the cliffnotes are. car was originally purchased new by actor nick cage He sold car a couple of owners later I bought the car I love it and drive it for about a year I buy a 360 and wife is pissed we have 2 ferraris i sell 355 to a local guy to avoid a divorce guy blows motor and wants me to fork over 13k i tell him to pound sand he has no $$ to fix and never makes a payment on it he hides car for about 3 years (details during this timeframe are not known) Car goes to auction to pay for bank loan and a mechanics lein (allegedly) car is now in NJ I miss my 355
