    Thought I would share my latest acquisition. Flew out to Boston 2 weeks ago to buy a '92 512. The car was a one owner with 13,000 miles*. Bought new at Ferrari of Newport in Rhode Island. It has the window sticker, all books, tool kit and luggage. Very well detailed/complete service records from new and best of all, black with red interior my personal favorite:)

    *It now has 15,200 miles did a road trip from Boston to Colorado haven't had that much fun in a while:) :)

    Beautiful car. What's the "bolster wear preventer" on the drivers seat?

    I got my 328 in December of 2007, but before I pulled the trigger I seriously considered a beautiful 512 that was at the same place. Sometimes I still wonder if I made the right decision.

    But, anyway, and again congrats on your acquisition.

    How is it you seemed to have dodged every bug on that cross country road trip???

    Bruce posted a photo of his Omni and it looked like it went through a MayFly hatch on the way to the McDonalds down the street.

    Congratulations on that great car. How long had you looked? Just seems the 512s are fairly rare, and to find one in 'your' color even moreso.

    Any hiccups on the road trip?

    The car looks absolutely pristine. Congrats again.

    Ya like that huh? I had a left over piece of leather from another interior job. Blue jeans tend to tranfer color on to seats so I always cover them with something.

    Thanks for the compliment on the car.

    Kind of a catch all post: thanks for all of your acknowledgements.

    The car ran perfectly all the way home. 18 miles to the gallon and not a drop of oil consumed. I have always road tripped my cars home(except the 355CH, bought it in Dec.) and have never had a problem, although this was the furthest trip home. Always carry my duct tape and bailing wire just in case :):)

    LOL and here I thought I was already smart :). Have wanted a 512 for a long time, they finally came around to what was in my wallet and it was very hard to find that cool red interior.
