MS's records will never be beaten. He is like Richard Petty in NASCAR.

    Forget that.

Nobody will ever break MS' records for the same reason he is now struggling getting onto the podium again: F1 is changing rapidly and what worked for a couple of years won't work in the future. Plus there seems to be a constant stream of new young talent coming into F1.

Somebody like Hami or Alonso might get up to 4 titles (not that I even expect that) but nothing beyond it. Nor will MS get an 8th.

Are you insinuating that outside influence would prevent such domination in the future?

    Hes right.

Outside influence made MS and Ferrari so dominant because it was profitable for Ferrari to win after so many years.

I know, but then Ferrari was competitve in 2006 anyway. MS was in a position to capture the title.

Did anyone hear Vettel over the radio? Man he was pissed and frustrated, he is not the perfect gentleman racer that many thought he was.
Remember the long thread on here when Lewis Hamilton did the same? Some egg on faces i think.

+1 excellent race, especially with the top 3. Although the back markers really screwed Alonso up a bit.

Could not agree more, Alonso should have been a solid 2, and Massa at least 10, possibly a 9. That is why they race and sh$t does happen.

    YTes, Massa finished 15th.

Are you going to argue that was a great result?

Schuey can't even beat Fangio's records. Most people don't realize just how much more dominant Fangio was in his era, greatly eclipsing what MS accomplished. Fangio has an unassailable win ratio, championship win ratio, plus diversity of teams he won with as well. Scary to think Fangio was past in his prime in his forties winning championships while MS can't even win one WDC in his forties.

Clark had more wins than Fangio but outright numbers are a poor metric when comparing drivers of different era's. Ultimately, Schuey will always be in the shadow of Senna, having never been able to achieve even one PP while Senna was around and his conduct will forever taint his statistics.
