I was browsing through some of my 400i pictures last night, when I came across the pictures from when 47583 was for sale on ebay. I seriously love this car.....a proper Series II in a perfect color combination (only thing more perfect would be if it were grigio! :) )

Anyway, the pictures say everything....the car is a beauty. Didn't someone from fchat get the car?

Very nice car, but the series I interior is much nicer than the series II!

You need to bite the bullet and get yourself a 400 soon.

I'm mixed on the interiors. I really hate the wood center console thing in the Series I cars.......

And yes, I know, I know. *sigh*. You guys are all probably sick of seeing me post here for darn near 4 years or something without ever having a 400i and always talking a good game. :) haha....

I've been back and forth on 50679.......curious about that transmission of course, but still. If only the economy were doing a bit better. My options, which were doing VERY well when our stock was at 18, aren't doing nearly as well now that we're at 3. But yeah, I know...everyone is in the same boat.

Maybe this summer I keep telling myself.

Very nice color combination, but then I'm biased, since that is the color of my car, s/n 46153!

BTW, my notes say that 47583 was bought by Brennan Johnson of San Luis Obispo in 2006. Is he still on FChat and still owning the car?

I remember this car now. I was interested in it when it came up on eBay, in Hollywood if I recall correctly. Great color combo.

The thing with the series II console is that the buttons look a bit higgeldy-piggeldy! Other than that, it is nice.

Yes I do indeed still own #47583 and it is a beauty. I've been toying with the idea of selling and actually wrote the ad copy lastnight. However, when I went out to uncover it and check the mileage, I fell in love all over again. So, I'm torn. I'm not selling for the money, it's just that I've become interested in other hobbies. Car is in perfect condition and all original; original bill of sale, import docs, tools, maintenace records since new, etc all included. Oh, and "correct" TRX wheels and tires too! :)

Man that is BEAUTIFUL! I like silver cars, but mostly because they hide dirt better, but damn that sure looks nice!!! Can't imagine letting something like that go!

I can certainly understand how uncovering it and taking a seat might make you fall in love again!

    Best,
    James

It now looks even better than in the photos posted above, which were taken before I bought it.

Marrone (2.443.221) hides dirt even better (not that I would ever let that happen).
    Got to love those TRXs.

    Hi Brennan:
I too have been toying with the idea of buying one and I was hoping to find a silver one... in California. So, if you are interested in parting with it... :)

Gosh I would love to have a 400 sometime. They are such lovely cars. Love it in silver or Chiaro Blue.

Steering wheel is on the wrong side and what's that PRND321 thing sticking out of the center console?!?!

The seller lists the VIN as 'MA366371111111111', but we all know that's not right. So a quick check with Matthias Urban's Handbuch der Ferrari Seriennummern tells me that '36637' is, in fact, a silver LHD 400i Automatic, making the full VIN ZFFEB06B000036637.

Good job decoding, Carbon! I should have guessed that the real chassis number was buried in that mess, or not!

Even when I first saw it, I wanted to believe that the serial number was actually in there. But I couldn't trust it until I went to the book.

You know me; just trying to identify every single Ferrari, one serial number at a time. :)

Unfortunately I don't have any history on this car as it is a brand new addition to my database.

It's official... 47583 has gone to a new home in Santa Barbara, CA. I'll leave it to the new owner to make himself known on the forum. I was sad to see her pull out of the driveway, but happy to see her go to a guy that is excited and knowledgeable. I've definitely appreciated the support of the othe members here on FChat... thank you for your input and support over the years! It's been fun.

    signing off...

Brennan, I'm an idiot for not buying your car. Glad it's not going far though, and maybe someday I'll be the next owner after the Santa Barbara guy. never know...
