As the saying goes..."Actions speak louder than words".
When/if someone has a positive experience w/ the Boardwalk run FofSF, I'm sure they will post it, but so far, nothing but negative feedback.
If they start selling cars over MSRP and the greed outweighs their passion, they are done for.
Relationships are EVERYTHING in this business, which is why Brad and Evan made that store successful before the takeover. Thats just my $.02.

I'm a bit late to this dialogue, but glad I found it nonetheless. I solicited a bid to replace the belts and fluids on my '87 Mondial Cab (just belts and fluids, NOT a major), and received a verbal estimate from FoSF that included five digits. I always expect to see my good buddy comma when dealing with Fcar service, but I have to admit the arrival of digit #5 was unexpected given the scope of work...

I wasn't offended, but was a bit put off by the quote. I realize my Mondial may not be the target service demographic compared to the modern supercars and their technology, but I thought FoSF would cater a bit more to Fcar owners for relationship purposes. In reading this thread, it appears there may still be some growing pains underway.

On a brighter note, after my conversation with FoSF I spoke with Cars Dawydiak in SF and had a great exchange with their service tech. Anyone have experience with them?

A major is something like $5000 max on this car, no? you just want fan belts and fluids? I would not expect for that to be more than few hour's work, including time spent surfing the net.

That does seem a bit high going in. If the number ballooned to that after they got some parts off, I would understand. Remember that their labor rate is their labor rate. Also remember that their techs have more experience with newer cars than older cars. When I had some work done 6 years ago, they only had one guy that worked on 3x8s. I have no idea how they are set up now, given all of the changes.

I would not go to Car Dawydiak. They are more of a body shop that does some mechanical work instead of the other way around. Their business ethics is also questionable.

Why not to go to independent specialist shop that does Ferraris?

I agree. I worked for Cars Dawydiak until last October. I convinced my bf to bring the Audi there for body work after getting sideswiped on Franklin since his insurance was paying $$$. There were several issues with the bodywork that weren't there before when I brought it home. There were some fishy stories too we couldn't quite figure out. So they offered to do a 15k mile service for free after we brought up all the issues. Well, they screwed that up too and we are still dealing.

I had been a customer there for a decade for body work on my sports cars, but it had been hit or miss even with that. After working there and learning how that company operates I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Well maybe. ;)

Some of my friends have had issues with their exotics in for body work as recently as this year, as far as the quality of work goes. My best friend had her Lotus in for work and they patched the problem instead of actually fixing/replacing parts and the same issues came back. They told her to file another claim with her insurance company. Total headache.

As for FoSF I heard Paris has replaced Ramin, but I'm not 100% sure. I tried to check out their site to confirm, but the links weren't working. Guess they need to get their website in order too.

Anyone interested in another Dawydiak horror story can PM me. Long story short: I tried to consign my car there. It was a total disaster and it now looks as if they may have "lost" a part off the car during the short time it was in their possession. I currently trying to get them to replace the part or compensate me for it. As to their body shop, years ago they did some very minor repairs to my Rover when my sister-in-law borrowed the car and hit a pole. The damage was minor but they totally botched it.

    Very shady. Very shady, indeed.

    Go elsewhere.

Tony at T&R in SF is the best. Plus he is honest and reliable.

I looked up T&R. It's a repair shop at 76. So they work on exotics? What kind of work have they done for you guys?

Don't let the 76 fool you. Tony has his masters in mechanical engineering along with several mechanical patents on file; he is no grease monkey. He's invested in all the latest tools & technology to work on the modern Ferrari, including the latest version of an SD scanner (SD3?) at nearly $30k. His work is meticulous and precise. Finding mechanics as good as this in any field is quite rare, IMO.

I have serviced my Ferrari on several occasions at T & R Automotive and had nothing but excellent service and profesional experience. I have Chrome wheels on my car and had the tries repalced without any issues. I also had a major service done on my 360 and was very satistied with the work. I don't know of anyone who did not have a positive experience with Tony. I highly recommend him.

I just picked up my 360 from Tony. He put 4 new tires on my car and a few other stuff.
There was no markup on the tires and no scratches what so ever. My wheels are painted grey so it would show any scratches on the first glance.
His prices are fair and does his work in a timely matter.
Over all I give it 5 stars. He also detailed my engine bay for me. it looks brand new.

I am a customer of Tony's and have only positive experiences with his service. I would not hesitate to take my 360 to him again.
