There are 17 SCUDS for sale in Ferrari Market Letter alone....the market is very soft at the moment. I suspect it is guys that are coming out because they are taking delivery of 458's. If I could keep it I would but it has to go.

    Steve,
if you trade it in than there is a value of $12,000 as a tax credit towards the 458 at $200k.

good luck and can't wait to see the new toy. How did you spec her out ??? Black / Black . . . . . .

So what's 2008 F430 spider with 2500 miles worth on trade versus a 458 while we're at it?

You are spot on, I love my 612!

You are correct about the CS, my wife looks at my computer every once in a while and says why do you keep looking at cars just buy one. Then she pronounces the Stradale in a way that makes it sound sexy. I know TMI :) or she sees it is half the price of a 16M!

I am in the market for a 430 for $150K range approx 1 year from now, but if scud prices creep down from their $200K+ ranges currently, then it might get into my price range! what do you guys think a scud will run around fall 2011?

i think they cld be in the 170s...but who cares what i think, i cld be dead wrong.

dont spend too much time fussing over which model to get. i know it might not sound obvious but ur prob going to trade after a year or two anyway. so many people i know postpone buying a 430 and theyd be so much happier owning a 355 or something during that waiting period. buy it, drive it, love it.

I don,t understand these guys saying the Scud are worth $195.000 to $225,000 there $300,000 plus cars are they dreaming or what these cars are collectors 16m only 499 build and coupe about 1500 WORLD WIDE, if you have a scud hang on to them there be worth alot down the road believe me why would anyone trade in and down grade themself for a 458, the 458 there going to be thousand of them build with in the next three years anyone buying a 458 is going to take the biggest hit there be dime a dozen very soon and the way there catching on fire ,who the hell want one anyways, my 2cent

The market for SCUDS is currently really soft so now is not the time to sell, but I would not expect a big uptick in value from where retail is now. I really doubt that they will be worth any more in the future than what they arwe worth right now. Too many were made and while the performance is at the top of the 430 food chain they are no comparison to a base 458.

I agree that there will be more 458's built than SCUDS..but if you have not been paying attention the 458 is a much better overall car than the SCUD. The reality is that if the 458 is a dime a dozen then the 430 will be a nickel a dozen. Further IMHO the design makes the 430 look very old. my 2 cents

In my short search to date, I've found that you can currently pay asking and get an 08 or 09 Scud at 225. That's easy. And it's not hard to find them less than 220. Again- those are asking prices. Wholesale is a lot less. These will not increase in value. Just like the CS, or almost any other model, they are going to depreciate. Cars are generally not appreciating assets, rather fun to have liabilities. You may find otherwise, but that's what I am seeing.

well if you say there alot of them build, 499 16m and 1500 coupe is NOT alot build in the world, i don,t know what your saying then, yes the 458 is a different build car is like any other new design comming out ?? for performance why take a hit so much, put a set of performance exhaust on a scud and you,ll out perform a 458 anytime

It always offends the owner of any particular model car to hear that it's depreciated and now those in a 'lower' socioeconomic category can purchase their car. :)

agreed. Im not offended because I understand the reality of Ferrari ownership. Drive it and enjoyi it. Sell it and lose money. Buy the next latest and greatest and enjoy it!

I lost money on the Scud and for anyone to believe prices will increase rather than decrease in the near or long term you should get a clue.

like I was saying earlyer , my point is the scud are more rarer and less production then the reguler f430 which they made thousand of them, how many 458 will be product you have more of a chance to lose more money on a 458 then a scud, i know there people out there that there trading the scud for the 458 and then taken a big hit after everything is said and done there still going to 499 16m and about 1500 scud coupe in the world then you tell me after everyone has bought there 458 how much you think the scud are going to be value as the number of scud go down that are still out there in 3 years the less out there the more there going to be worth more ,
