Hey that looks familiar! Enjoy it. The Paint came out Perfect.
Congratulations. I am still working hard to bring my 360 Challenge to bring it up to the specs and condition that my anal-retentive nature will accept, and just purchased a 430 Challenge today, sight unseen. BTW, your garage looks like mine. I've got four Ford GT's, Three lambos and five Ferrari's. I'll post some pics once the build on the 360 is done. Engine and tranny are complete, were doing a 360 GT body conversion and custom exhaust with cat delete. Once the re-paint is done, the pics will follow.
Sweet.. I'm a big hotrodder, all my cars are modded. I'll post some pics of my other cars later. Looking forward to seeing the 360.
I' have the 360 Challenge car completely stripped down, blocking, sanding and re-painint to the original factory color (Rosso Corsa). It was re-painted Rosso Scuderia (But not painted that well). I am installing the N-GT style front and rear bumpers, and have Stradale side skirts and wing now. Here's a link to the "Before" shots, it's currently completely torn down at this point. http://wickedperformanceshop.com/?p=837 This is at my friend's shop in Cleveland. You'll see that the shop does a variety of work in the offroad/Baja field. I am also big into off-roading. They are working on custom components for my Orange Ford Raptor (You'll see some stuff they built for my truck).
You need a title to get tags, and only the 348CH and early ('95) 355CH cars had titles. Even with a title, most states require inspections that call for things like a horn, turn signals, etc., etc., all of which even early Challenge cars lack. If you're a "hair shirt" kind of guy you can drive a 348CH or 355CH on the street (so long as it's a flat, well-paved one), but be prepared for an uncomfortable and impractical experience.
SW, I met you at the H2R Track a few weeks ago with your F430 Challenge car during the Ferrari Track Day and the Sound and Speed when you went blazing by on the track was AWESOME!! I only wish I had incar video in my F355 at the time but, with my window down driving fast as you went by faster was just unbelievable! Hope to see you at TWS soon. The F430 Challenge is a solid race car with lot of potential I mean look how well the RISI group did in the ALMS during their run thru the seasons! Ciao, SRR
Thanks, that was my first time in the car and I really enjoyed it. I'm going to TWS next weekend where I can open her out, can't wait. I'm taking my ZO6 also just to see how fast the 430 is compared to the ZO6..
Did the car have a wrap that you removed and then buffed out the paint? I 'm considering a 430 challenge that has an ugly wrap (solid over every panel!!!) It's Corsa Rosa underneath and the car is cheap enough to fix up and not have too much into it. (I'm looking into clutch wear percentage on the car today.) My goal is to end up with a car exactly like yours... Could you post some interior shots? Thanks and you have a sweet car - Track day yet? Club race?
If you are running a fully caged car on the street you have to make sure you have the harness on tight so you don't implant your head in the roll bar
