Read my post again. They chose not to run it because of unreliability, not because it was faster not to.

    Great first race. Gnite fellas.

I wonder if Hamilton's car will pass the inspection? I guess allowances are made for the ride height planks in the case of damage.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

still alonso being alonso saves the day for ferrari..it could be a big disaster dropping to to 9th or 10th but nice climb to 4th

A bit edgy vinuneuro? Horner said it was because Newy wouldn't change the shape of his design to accomidate it.

This here is the point vinueuro.

Agreed, it's just one of the factors. I do think it is not an essential element to having the best car.

He wouldn't change the shape of the car so they had to compromise the reliability of the KERS to get it to fit. Once they can sort out the reliability and have it fit properly they will run it and be even faster.

Vettel was absolutely cruising. His pace in the first couple of laps shows what he and the car is capable off. Have fun playing catch up (to all the teams).

Massa after his hungary accident has been slow, I don't think he'll improve anymore. Time to go...

Schumachers race was a write off as soon as he got hit. Bad luck for mercedes. Car is slow unfortunately.

Petrov drove a fantastic race. Had Kubica been here we would have seen him second.

    Bit harsh on Button!

Everything he said was true, Massa was VERY slow, and VERY hard to pass and that did ruin Button's race.

However, the onous is on Button to over take Massa; much the same for Alonso vs Petrov last year.

The FIA has announced that the two Saubers have been excluded from the results of the Australian GP because the rear wings were found to be in breach of Article 3.10.1 and 3.10.2 of the Technical Regulations, which relate to the radius of the curvature of the three rear wing elements. As far as we can ascertain the problem offered no real performance advantage but was simply an oversight by the team, which they admitted was an error. Unfortunately, rules are rules and the two cars were excluded. This means that Felipe Massa moves up from ninth to seventh, with Sebastien Buemi now eighth and the two Force Indias picking up points for ninth and 10th, which means that Scotland’s Paul di Resta scores a point on his F1 debut.

of course the front must be slower if not you wont have a chance to past but it sounded like "massa is slow so he should have let me pass" its just a big whine

he can only blame himself not passing massa the lewis hamilton passing rule book

He holds off a former WDC for multiple laps in a much slower car. He needs to go? He did his job quite well id say. Lets just fire all drivers who didnt beat their team mates including one's like Button who is now officially whining, much like Alonso vs Petrov last year. Felipe is not Alonso no doubt, his performance today was not that bad. Alonso finished where? How far behind the leader? Ferrari in Melbourne were never going to challenge for the win. They knew it after Q1.

The team needs help the car is the problem. Firing Massa wont make the car faster by any means. Frankly Ferrari were lucky to have as good a day as they did. They arent in the same league with Red Bull.

Until they were excluded, that is. (See #366 above.)

It's a shame, because Perez drove an amazing race to do it all with only one stop!

Got to agree. Both Saubers looked as though they were the business and light years ahead of the 2010 Bimmer lump. Perez drove like a star.

Button stuck one down the inside of Massa late in the race, lets not forget that.

IMO Massa did just enough today.
