thanks for the info - the E-type really is an Icon. Does anyone do "resto-mods" of E-types like are done with vintage Corvettes?

Thanks. Yep, unfortunately my S2 E-Type got stolen when it was at a local repair garage.
It never turned up. I had Hagerty agreed-value insurance, so financially I was made whole.
I'd rather have my E-Type back though.
It only had 57k miles on it and I had the heritage certificate for it too.

Another crazy thing in an S2 are the seat belts (shoulder & lap belt combo).
Some very strange buckles that no one can figure out when they first get in the car.
This can work to the driver's advantage when giving a ride to a pretty girl. :)

Here is a pic of my Jaguar. I still look for it on the internet every once in a while.

Congratulations! Same exact car my neighbor picked up back in 1976... he took me for a ride and I was hooked on E-types since then. Do yourself a favor and pick up 3 things.. Robert Bentley's "Complete Jaguar E' service book, and keep a spare coil and electic fuel pump in the boot and chances are you'll never be stranded. Good Luck!

My brother and I rescued a "fair maiden" in a series 3 V-12 E-Type in exactly those colors way back when (say 1994 or so). Quite simply, the only problem at the time was a lack of fuel in the tank combined with an excess of heat under the bonnet. We managed to push the car into a McDonalds parking lot until we could procure some petrol for the put out owner & get her on her merry way.

Looks like a nice car, one of the earliest Etypes.

Unless you're quite short and have small feet you'd prefer a later car (post-flat floor).

its nicer than the light blue one that went for $64k in march but doesnt make sense to spend that much on a series 2. maybe if you wanted to really show the car and it was already a documented jcna winning car but not for anything to drive on the road.
