I had that scene on an old Beta tape back in the day.

I watched it 341,957,562,951 times I think

 

Betamax came out in 1975. License tags on the cars says 1979.

That was "Against All Odds" and it came out in 1984.

I used that Beta up until about 1987. I could still buy tapes at Kmart for it until around 88.

 

Double check that.

 

Hate to make like Buzz Killington here but that may actually be the worst movie video of a 308. Why? Listen to it, it is not a 308, sounds like 12 cylinders were overdubbed in there. In fact it sounds eerily similar to actual best car scene in movie history....... the opening of Cannonball Run with the carbed Countach, there is ongoing thread on the front page here about Dean Martin's and Sammy Davis Jr's 308 in said all-time epic car thriller btw. Furthermore it sounds like they may have overdubbed the actual audio from that very scene of Cannonball Run to the 308 in Against all Odds.

Not long ago, i was saw a honda that tried to pass on a curve and on the outside, (over the double yellow on a narrow two lane, one each way road). The young dummy stuffed it into the left side dualies of a big rig, killing himself and his passenger. Where in-the-HELL did he get the idea that it was cool or safe to do that??????????????????????????????

Those in "entertainment" disregard responsibility insearch of a buck.

Interestingly enough, the only real Lambo V12 sound in the CBall opening was the *exact* scene in the Youtube preview image above...pulling out from the brush...

The parts before and after were all dubbed. What with though? 512BB? Daytona with no mufflers? There have to be some old school Hollywood studio types on this site?!

Agreed. Great opening scene. Great song. Great cars. Only flaws are the sped up scenes, corny jokes and that front spoiler, but overall a true classic.
