I have been searching for a while... Been hard to find a great 550 for sale. Anyone parting with one?
Not to be insulting but this post is ridiculous. There are several cars out there and they get discussed in this section. Why don't you give what you are looking for: color, interior, mileage limits, year range, options, etc. Then you need to provide any specific requirements you may have. For example, in the 360 section there are guys looking but they will only buy a car with 100% perfect records with absolutely nothing missing (there are only a handful of those out there). Other people want everything but think it is at a silly/unrealistic price. Without details we probably can't help.
Try Miller Motorcars in Greenwich, CT. A month or so ago they had a really nice grey/silver with bordeaux interior. Not sure it's still there, but worth a call.
I don't think that the request/asking this question is ridiculous at all. The OP wants to know if anyone will be parting with one. This would make those cars unavailable on the web at the moment. These are the types of question that make the site so helpful.
I agree, I too am looking for a 550, I think we can at least assume that we all want to buy as near a prefect car and or maint record as possible; maybe not? As for color etc I am sure that we would need that but he is just asking for the 550, then check on details I guess, thanks, guys, us rookies need your support!!!NOT to be called ridiculous and discouraged to post here...We all want the perfect car at a ridiculous LOW price don't we? dogdoc
I was looking for a 355 for 6 months but decided on a 550 because of how reliable they were and the cost of maintaining them were less then a 355. Just like everyone says on here...get a PPI at a reputable shop or dealer I found 3 550's that looked great but the PPI's came back bad. Dont fall in love with the first car you find. I am not an expert on here but others are and might chime in. Seems like the 550/575's are bringing in good money now, maybe its the summer season? I finally found a very nice 575 and got lucky Good luck guys
No problem guys. It was the same scenario when I was looking. I wanted to know before hand and make a deal that would satisfy both parties before there were other offers. I wish I could be of help in the 550 search but I don't know of any besides the ones I have seen online. And those are available for all to see. Give the thread a few more days and Im sure that someone will have info regarding your needs.
I didn't intend to discourage posting but the question is no different than "Do any of you know about a Porsche Turbo for sale?" Not specific enough to be of any use. Anyway, good luck with the search.
I didn't go look at this car but it is close if you want me to take a look. Given who is selling it I would be a little/lot skeptical but good price for a 575M. http://www.cashforcars.net/web/used/Ferrari-575M-Maranello-2002-San-Jose-California/1329572/
You may want to check the thread I started as there are I few for sale that I noted. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=333389
Thanks guys. Sorry for the lack of details. I know about most of the cars for sale and have done several PPI's over the past year. I am not really specific on colors or options. I really like Red and Black but have also seen others which are great too. Options - love the leather shelf, Shield etc. but same thing here for the right car I'm pretty flexible.
I noted what's not that critical. But what is critical to me is owner history (first and foremost), service history, condition and PPI results.
Good luck to you. It took me 18 months to find my almost perfect match. Take your time and do your homework. For what it's worth, everything that I own is for sale at a price. Check out My Garage. If you like my car, make me an offer subject to a test drive and PPI if you think it's necessary or you can call Brian Crall or John Heim, who have worked on it, for references. She's just about to turn 28,000 miles and I can show you the records. This is how the process works.
Yes, they are one of those car lots where you drive in and they make you an offer. Hand them the title and they give you a check. No questions asked. Of course they look at the car but it is just a visual inspection, they check the oil too but nothing else. They didn't even hook up and OBD reader. I sold them my old A6 when the torque converter started to fail. I was getting intermittent CEL so I took it down when the CEL was off and unloaded it. They say they don't have staff mechanics and if they did I would be worried. Very sketchy place for an exotic. I would think that you need to buy it right because you will be doing some or a lot of work to get it pristine. Disclaimer: I haven't seen the car so I can't say for sure the condition. John
Buying a 550 that has been well cared for by an fchatter is a great idea. They come up for sale every now and then but not all the time.
+1 Wow, really makes me want to pay more money to subscribe next time around. There are some real ****** bags hanging around here just waiting to jump on some new guy for not "properly wording his question" or "Failing to use the search function". As a new subscribed member, I am very disappointed with the poor quality people this site attracts, very unfortunate, the wealth of knowledge and guys who want to truly help out are overshadowed by arrogance and stupidity. Hey Skidmark, I understood the guy fine. Maybe you shouldn't be such a jerk off.
How not to make friends and influence people... This is the most obnoxious ****** bag post I've seen in my time here. The FChat community is fantastic. Maybe the problem is you?
OK YOU GUYS STOP IT! Everyone needs to chill out and play nice. We have lost 3 very important contributors on FChat because of threads like this. Make this the last post on that issue and don't even comment on my post here. Lets all just let it go and try to give the OP and answer to his question. Thanks!
I like this Board because the people on here are ladies and gentelmen and behave and post that way. I have been helped immensely by the board members on here as well as the 550 section. Thanks in advance, keith
Personally when I'm looking for a car, I hunt on a handful of web sites daily. Usually Autotrader, Cars.com, Fchat, Dupont, and Ebay. I will check one or twice per day so I know what comes on the market immediately. I know it sounds crazy, but it helps you get acquainted with the market. I would stay away from anything at a "cars for cash" type place. Networking on Fchat is a great idea. Many Ferrari owners are here and will help you. I run the Ferrari Owners Club in the NE of the country. If I hear of anything I will let you know. Btw, picked up a 550 a few months ago and love it!
It would be nice to see some photos of your new ride, unless you posted them somewhere and I missed it. For the F-Chat members on here looking for 550's & 575's......don't rule out Canada; there seems to be some nice examples here as well. There wasn't when I was looking, so I bought all 3 of mine from the US in the last couple of years. 550's: http://www.autotrader.ca/a/pv/Used/Ferrari/550/Ferrari/?lloc=Canada&rctry=True&isrfn=True&isnew=False&rcs=0 575's: http://www.autotrader.ca/a/pv/Used/Ferrari/575/Ferrari/?lloc=Canada&rctry=True&isrfn=True&isnew=False SA's: http://www.autotrader.ca/a/pv/Used/Ferrari/Superamerica/Ferrari/?lloc=Canada&rctry=True&isrfn=True&isnew=False A couple of cars are misplaced into the wrong category.
