Hey guys, let's gauge interest on this one. Pchop, I know you go to the LA Gun Club, I see the updates on FB all the time. Las, you just got initiated lastnight. Kevin, you too right? Maybe a monthly rotation to LAGC, LAX, the FiringLine locations. Every now and then we can do a desert session with the big toys. Tentative date: 9/17, late afternoon Loc: TBD
I'd love to check it out one day with you guys once I'm out there. I go once or twice a month here in FL. I'm a little concerned with all the gun laws there. Anyone know if I have to do anything special with my handguns when I get there? Thanks
You are fine to bring handguns into the state as long as they aren't a semi-auto with the magazine outside the pistol grip and they aren't a named assault weapon. You're 100% fine to bring your run of the mill Glocks, 1911's, and revolvers.
This is my time of the year, just got back from taking the family to Hawaii for 3 weeks. I just did the dove season opener in Yuma a few days ago and leave next for a archery season hunt in Utah followed by a bear hunt with my trusty S&W 500. I prefer things to die at long distance or 50 yards with my bow and then up on my grill. Have fun guys.
For the Fchat gun enthusiasts, I have set up a little drive to lunch at Blueline guns in Ventura. Discounts and food! The event is called Guns and Gears. Info Here: http://www.drivenworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3402
Yes. Here is everything you need to know about handgun legalities. http://www.calguns.net/caawid/hgflowchart.pdf
Nice, that probably is a better choice for this crowd, not as many crackheads. I will be headed out to the desert this weekend for breaching exersizes
I do clays...triple B and moore and moores are the best places around. trap/skeet/sporting clays. I love a classic over and under shotgun. I gave up the handguns when ammo got crazy expensive and hard to get. Used to shoot steel challenge which I liked but sucked at.
Haven't shot sporting clays before, but I'm huge into trap. I'm out at Oaktree 2-3 times a week practicing for competitions.
Tim - We've talked about this before. The desert is really the only way to go. It's very anti climatic to be indoors at a range unless you're only goal is handgun target practice. Anything more exotic needs to be outdoors. The questions is - is there anywhere "local" we can go to? A group of us go out to Pahrump and/or Lake Havasu once every couple of months. We take a few UTVs into the mountains and find a nice "base camp" spot and spend half a day going through thousands of rounds! There are no restrictions in the less populated counties of Arizona and Nevada!
Oak tree has decent skeet too and the handgun shooting gallery is nice too if there are not too many people. I'm surprised no one has been killed on that pistol range.
Yeah, some people don't have the free time to go out on an excursion, so range time is the answer for a mid-week trip. Deserts allow pepper poppers, plus the fun firearms [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdaH_G69XcQ[/ame]
For the most part, I avoid the pistol gallery like the plague. Too many yahoos that don't know what they're doing, I stick to clays and shooting paper. They did have a guy commit suicide on the pistol gallery back around New Years.
