A friend sent me these photos from a C&C event in Great Falls last week and I just noticed how much bigger the Mondial is sitting next to the 308. I expected it to be bigger but wow, that's stunning you can say but both cars look beautiful! Joe, I forgot I was next to a 360 2 weeks ago, it does appear to be wider than a Mondial but length is about same. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
What's the driver leg room like? I'm 6' 2", hopefully there's a little more room than my vintage 911. I'm considering purchasing Russ Turner's black 3.2 that's listed in the Ferrari Ads section since it looks like a nice car (and leans a little more to the "hot rod" side of things with the carbs and custom exhaust--same thing I looked for in a vintage 911). I'm going to test drive a Mondial cab at a dealer tomorrow just so I can get a reference for how these cars drive.
The 360 at 1922mm (1923mm for F430) is wider than the Mondial (8 & Qv: 1790, 3.2: 1795 & T: 1810) but narrower than my Monzer (c.1968mm)
Russ' car is very nice. Assuming the 3.2 and t have virtually identical interior dimensions (ignoring the difference in center console config), other than a little offset to the right for the pedals, there is an amazing amount of legroom and plenty of seat travel. Regards, Jerry
I would prefer the t's interior over mine, but for tall guys, the 3.2 has more leg room because there's no knee pads I think. The driver's pedal area is ridiculously cramp so make sure you get some Italian pointy racing shoes for best performance. lol Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good to know that there's leg room. Love that wooden Nardi wheel, soucorp. I may steal your idea when I get a Mondial of my own. I briefly considered one for my P-car, but went with a Momo Prototipo instead, as its more period correct for the vintage 911 race cars.
My 1989 T doesn't have the knee pads, but the 1990 and later do. It is my understanding that new federal safety standards required Ferrari to add knee bolsters and the auto seat belt contraptions on 1990 and later Mondials.
You've never thought kindly of the 360/430 ., whats your thoughts on the 458? I love the legroom i have in the 360 . But a mondial or gt4 I can see in my future
I for one think the 360 & 430 still looks amazing. Love the spacecraft looking design and cockpit. Definitely a future Ferrari for me, look at it, just gorgeous! But for now, I am happy with my MOndi! Cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I too struggle with the 360's looks, sometimes i love it and other times i find myself tilting my head to find the appeal but I too think it will be my next Ferrari addition without selling my Mondial. I think the side profile as you show it is the most attractive angle, not straight on.
The more I read about the 458 Spider, the more I love it! Wow, some day maybe after the lotto winnings! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the 458 is an improvement. I like the way they lowered the tail, which makes it look far less bulky - which was the biggest failing of the 360/F430. Also puts the rear wheels into nicer proportion to the body. On the 360/F430, the rear wheels have always looked tiny (same problem with the BMW 3 series in Bangled form... the preceding e46 seemed nicely hunkered and stretched over its wheels.) I wouldn't call the 458 a masterpiece, because some of the details are kind of fussy and will look dated in a few years (the silly robotic squint of the headlamps, etc.), but there's a lot to like about it.
Agreed. BUt the 458 is beautiful! When it drops below 100k, it will be the next move from the 360 for me. I don't think the 360 is a hang on to model like i feel about the Mondial, so a trade up make sense but this certainly is a 10 year plan
