348 challenge car, an interesting car, is it worth $53K?? (no affiliation to seller) http://www.motorcargallery.com/car_26.html
Advertised as a 348tb Challenge, which it's not (or at least not a factory Challenge). It's a 1993 348tb SS that's been modified with Challenge equipment. Nothing wrong with that, just making the distinction.
you're right, was a SS 348 converted ....sadly should have stayed a SS IMO ....explains somewhat why only $53K then?
good plug Bruce ...what's your take on the pricing of listed then, seems high, especially in comparison .....are you finding your's hard to sell? (due to race setup, custom mods, etc)?
I think I have owned the car before. I haven't checked the SN, but the similarities are striking. It's an excellent car with some high-dollar mods. "Street-legal" does not describe it. They're seldom an "easy" sale, as the market is narrow, and unlike selling a street car, there are very few standards of value. Paitence. Race cars typically go down in value when in early stages of obsolescence as just old uncompetitive cars, then up significantly when rarity, history and collectibility become factors. As with any non-stock car, there are many whining points, but usually from unsophisticated buyers. Wish we could hold it for another 5 years.
Just checked the SN. It is a car I've owned. Sold it to Jim Busby (see LeMans, Daytona results) about 3 years ago, he sold it to current (?) owner. Valve job done upon sale to Busby. Here's a pic of previous livery. Image Unavailable, Please Login
May not be too much ... did you see this thread? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=353279 Maybe the 348 and 355 prices are finally starting to head back up.
