    Hi guys!

I've been enjoying the amazing weather that the south of Europe has been blessed with these past weeks and on Monday drove 400kms down to Huelva - Islantilla.
The car ran great, engine, sound, everything....
But on the final 40kms, after a stop for gas, the turn signals stopped working.
When I pressed the hazardous button they would still work, and with the engine off, they would work individually - left and right, but with the engine running only the hazardous (all 4) would work!.
Also, the right side lever that controls all the windshield wiper functions stopped working - engine on or off.....

I asked in the hotel if there was any mechanic close by and this morning I went there only for the guy to tell me that it's a "copper plate inside the steering column that's fried..."

Is there any truth in this?

Any thoughts on what this may be?
My mechanic in Germany tells m it's most likely a fuse - but the guy here in spain after realizing that they would work with the engine off, said that it couldn't be a fuse.... (my mechanic didn't know that has we talked through whatsapp messaging...)

Now today I was supposed to do another 300 kms to Portugal and don't know what to think of all this...

On another note, South of Spain has been having 20 degrees, sunny skies during the day, a beautiful full moon every night, plenty of 'tapas' and 'paella' and 'canas' - beer ;) So I can't complain all that much!!!

Thanks in advance for your comments,

    M

I could be wrong, but I believe they are on the same fuse

Sounds like a relay. It should be located under the passenger (LHD) floorboard. That would be my guess.

So, I've made it to another pit stop and the car is in the shop.
It was recommended by a few F-owners from around these parts so....
Funny thing is: The first thing he said was that it's most likely a fuse....

Also I found out all climate controls are out as well...
As is the de-mist (in the climate control...).

    Oh, the horn works BTW....
    Let's wait and see..

Thank you very much for your input and if you think of something else, please feel free.

Also, the car keeps running great, the average fuel consumption on another 500km stroll was circa 15,23l/100...
    Not bad for a 5.5 liter V12....

Michael- If the horn works, it is most likely not the spiral contact.

Sorry for the delay in answering guys!
Just to let you know I'm back in the city of lights and so is my car.

It turned out to be a "fuse relay" that had burned or something so they switched the part, cleaned up my car and handed me the keys so I could drive back the remaining 1000 kms....

The car ran great has I've stated before, and this was the only niggle.
The cost? 150€ something like that. That includes the part, labour, and the wash up.

The south of Spain is amazing and the weather was great the entire journey.
Hopefully in the summer I may be able to do it again but through Nice and the Cote d'azur.

Thanks for all the help and assistance.

FChat is truly the best source of information on these cars.

    Thanks.
