I am taking my 2005 F430 Spider down to Beeville, Texas for the Texas Mile in March. Anyone else going/been to this event? Should be fun.

Are you participating or spectating? I have it marked on the calendar, but I won't know for sure until it's close to the date of the event.

I registered to participate. There are only about 30 spots left as of this morning. I believe you can still pay, but you are not guaranteed unlimited runs, you may only get about 2-3 runs for the same price.

I have run it before in my Ferrari, I'll go along and help if you need it.

They have Sunoco Racing Fuel available, you know....:D :D :D

You are wise to do it now, I fear it's days are numbered now that the US Navy wants the airfield back.......they have big guns you know....:D

I have some other friends going, but if your are going to take a run down, would love to get some pointers. I've never done this before, only been to MSR once.

Is it safe to run racing fuel in the car? They told me at Ferrari not to.

I was just there last weekend dove hunting on a lease that backs up to it. My friend works for the city and is going to open up the coliseum to keep my car in rather than parking it outside of a hotel.

They have me approved to 190. Would like to see what the car will actually do. The book says "over 196" I would like to see 200...

You get a free t shirt if you go 200 mph +

I would like to roll down the strip in my B7 with a few friends. That would be fun!!!

There are some nice long strips down there to turn loose on. I'm debating the drive or to haul the car down.

I drove mine, but we call that "working without a net".......

Just don't ask for a map of the track....LOL!

Be there early for orientation as waiting at lunch for mine really bit into the time on the track...go early, even the night before, IIRC, they have Tech Inspection??

I didn't care about the time, as I was fully sponsored and helping out the Art Car running against me, they made our own Class for Art Cars...LOL!

    I ran the Number #1 plate, of course....:D :D

Run the highest UNLEADED octane available. 02 sensors and leaded fuel do not get along almost immediately.

I took my 360 last year just as a spectator and was really fun, there are some crazy fast machines that attend.

You will not see anywhere close to 200 unless you are forced induction :)

You should run about what a Gallardo does.... roughly 175

Good Luck and be safe! Once you get out on the runway, you wave what feels like miles on either side. at 200mph+, the run off sure seems short before you have to make the turn...

Justin(we held numerous records out there :) )

Just returned from the Texas Mile. My 05' F430 Spider ran great. Was a little disappointed in the speeds, but really didn't know what to expect.

    03.23.12 10:30 a.m. 158.8 Qualifying run pump gas, a/c on
    03.23.12 11:45 a.m. 163.8 pump gas, a/c on
    03.23.12 2:30 p.m. 162.0 109 fuel a/c on
    03.23.12 4:30 p.m. 162.0 109 fuel a/c off
    03.24.12 9:30 a.m. 166.1 mix 109/pump gas, a/c off
    03.24.12 11:00 a.m. 164.8 mix 109/pump gas, a/c off

Didn't figure the afternoon was going to be any better, so loaded up and came home.

When I left, a Ford GT had run 250.?. They were tuning and tweeking after every run.

Congrats Ib the passes....I loaned a friend my HD hero GoPro for car mounted vids, we'll see if he gets any. Live that camera.

You may be disappointed in your speeds, but heck, still nice passes for your first time out.
