Looks fat. Wonder if the RS version can top the 997 GT3 RS 4.0!

Hopefully it will stay true to the "light and analogue" mantra...

holy moly! even I have to admit (as I am not a Porsche fan) that this looks pretty meaty and purpose built. can't wait to see the RS and looks like Porsche is starting to favor the center lock

997.2 GT3, Turbo S, GT2 RS, and whatever other variations had it, I would be surprised if they didn't keep using the center locks.

IMO, the front is awesome, the rear is a little too bland compared to the front, but we'll see when it's introduced if it is any different.

The front looks more typically GT2ish than GT3.

What's with the rear wing(s)? A ducktail with another wing oddly attached to it?? They should have bolted on the GT3 RS erector set wing as well to really confuse us. I'm curious to see what they decide on.

With an S already costing $110K-$120K I shudder at the thought of the GT3 price.

    Good pics.

Love the look, and I do like the tiny wing on the back, looks nice and tucked in. It'd be nice to see Porsche cut back on its ricey tendencies, what with the salad bars and decals lately...

As someone said above, the pricing of the 911 has exploded and I'm afraid of what the sticker on this will be!

Exactly what I was thinking. This will be pushing $200k optioned out.

Looks awesome. I like what they did with the 991 body a lot. Just wish they weren't jacking up the prices..... I saw a base 2012 Carrera for $91k and a Carrera S for $117k sticker prices at my local dealer. I'm sure turbos will be pushing $150k easy.

911s have gotten too expensive. After having three over the last few years I decided to get a BMW Z4 35i as a daily driver and a 355. Both put together cost about what my last 997 S did. The 355 is much more fun to drive than my 997.

When I opened this thread, I was really impressed. Then I saw the booty of this car, and it looks a little too big....

Im very excited about this car, but will have to judge the looks once I see it in person.

It does look too heavy. I think the current fad for dark-colored wheels doesn't help -- no visual break to lighten up the look.

I agree 911s are too expensive. But the GT3s seem to be holding their value well..

I am sure it is great on the track. Just these and other sports cars are getting to look more and more like GT cars.

I agree. I love the 991 but was pretty disappointed that they went so "GT" with the interior. I prefer a more spartan interior in a true sports car. Maybe they'll tone it down in the GT3 with more carbon fiber and matte finishing on more of the surfaces.

Get used to it. We're not going to see 'spartan' in any new $100K+ cars. Show anyone under 40 the interior of a 1970 Porsche 911 or Jag E-Type and they'd shrug and move on.

I don't get you guys acting like 145k for one of the best if not the best purpose built track car is too much.

Ferrari's answer that is raced head to head in alms all of the time is 300k

All cars are too expensive. It's realitive.

The 911 GT3 or RS variant are superb in every aspect.

All Porsche butts look big ;)

Looking forward to driving one of these things for sure

Or I can just buy something else. I'm under 40 and I like the stripped down CS/Scud interiors. If I want a GT, I'll buy a Vantage.

You are seriously comparing a 911 gt3 to the pigs Aston makes?

No, I'm comparing a GT3 to a CS or Scud. Maybe I didn't make my point clearly enough.

I don't like the "Panamerization" of the 991's interior. I think they've gone too far in the GT direction. I want the GT3 to remain raw. If I wanted a GT--which I don't--I would buy an Aston. Therefore, I do not want the 991 to keep getting tamer and more refined, especially the variants meant for the purists like the GT3.

So going back to my original post, I hope they're able to tone down the "glitz" of the new interior to something befitting the GT3 DNA.

I'm also dislike the new refinements going on in the 991

Cool. Can't wait to see the final spec / pictures. Praying they don't screw this up and ruin it for the true fans.
