Anyone have a source for the original tire valve caps? I found this one at $1 each that looks close but the knurling isn't as fine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I found this type that is not quite correct but would be very useful. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My guess is that the knurled pic from 07920 is correct. The "ribbed" style is what I call coin edged like a quarter. I don't think that style is correct. I have the knurled style on my original '74 Stratos spare tire that looks like the one on 07920.
At an FCA National Concours, one of the judges told me that Mercedes caps are equivalent. I put them on for the next concours - no deduction.
Those Mercedes caps are the same as ones I bought from BMW around 10 years or so back. I knew they'd come in useful one day. I have just enough to fit my three cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Perhaps, but not the same as what's on Dino 07920, the current candidate for most original. The top perimeter is too rounded and the center bump is also too rounded. Post #1 is closest to what 07920 has, but not a perfect match.
The Mercedes caps are available from the Mercedes Classic Center for about $2.20 ea, part #007757-008600. Freeman
